Abstract: 

Constructing new towns are done to the aim of spatial structure, optimum use of natural sources, limiting the dimensions of population centralization in towns and land logistic in biology system in the country. For removing the centralization and absorbing the surplus of the population of large cities with some millions populations such as Tehran and Mashhad, preventing the irregular development in large cities, making economical and social development balance and controlling the migration movements, constructing new towns has been known as the best choice, Andisheh new town has accommodation and services performance, and among the four new towns of Tehran (Andished, Hashtgerd, Pardis and Parand) is the only town which could attact the population more than the expected number in the plan for year 2006. However, this city, the same as the other new towns in Iran, has performed weak in urban sustainable development.

Abstract: 

In one classification, all of the sciences are divided into instrumental and original. Sciences such as logic, the principles of jurisprudence and algebra are classified as instrumental sciences, and other sciences such as philosophy, jurisprudence and arithmetic as the original ones. INSTRUMENTALITY and originality are two terms that are in fact not defined clearly. To understand the criterion which distinguishes these two sciences, one must rely on the common sense of the scientologists of the two terms. Different sciences have a cooperative relationship with each other and in solving the issues of one science other sciences are involved; however, the use of one science in another cannot be regarded as a criterion of INSTRUMENTALITY of that science. Also, personal aims of the creators and users of the sciences cannot be a true criterion for this categorization. In the present article, by rejecting personal opinion and relativity, a general criterion for a science to be instrumental is presented. The main benefit of a science because of which the wise agree on its necessity in the body of human knowledge can be a criterion for this classification. In this article, the science of logic as an instrumental science has been the focus of discussion, although the criteria presented has nothing to do with logic.

Abstract: 

the purpose of this study was to predict achievement goals from classroom climate by the mediating of perceived ability and INSTRUMENTALITY in a sample of 300 eleventh-grade students. The students studied in three academic majors (human sciences, natural sciences, mathematics) in Noor city high schools. Classroom climate was assessed using the "In My Class Questionnaire" (IMC, Hardré, Crowson, Ly, & Xie, 2006) and the "School Engagement and Effort Scale" (SEES, Hardré & Reeve, 2003). Achievement goals, and perceived ability and INSTRUMENTALITY were assessed using the "Approaches to Learning Questionnaire” (ATL, Greene & Miller, 1996). The data were analyzed using Baron and Kenny (1986) method, and multiple analysis of regression. The results indicated that classroom climate predicted achievement goals by the mediating of perceived ability and INSTRUMENTALITY in high school students.
