Abstract: 

The supremacy of Amir Moamenan Ali is an issue that has been long debated among Muslim theologians. The dissertation "Tafzil of Amir Moamenan" written by the great theologian Sheikh Mofid also engages with this issue that represents the firm belief of a majority of the Shi'ite theologians in the supremacy of Ali over all except for the Prophet. A majority of the Mu'tazalites in Baghdad also vouch for the supremacy of Ali over the rest of the Prophet's disciples. Out of discretion the Abbasid Caliphate supported the idea of the superiority of the Mafzool over Fazil. But Ma'moon, being the most knowledgeable Abbasid Caliph through debate sessions supported Ali's superiority and proved it. Sheikh Mofid's dissertation on Tafzil, despite its brevity, depicts the author's wealth and method given that it stakes its claim in 7 chapters on the strength of the public opinion as well as the experts and historical evidence on this issue.

Abstract: 

This study infers the lived experiences of Ph. D. candidates on empowering them by dissertation supervision. Our research method was phenomenology, and we interviewed students who were selected by the snowball sampling method. For ensuring the trustworthiness of the finding (credibility, transferability, confirmability, and dependability), we employed member checking, thick description, and external audits. The results demonstrate the ups and downs of empowering students through dissertation supervision. Therefore, ups in empowering students include freedom of selecting their supervisor, self-efficiency, independence, self-challenging, and supervisors’ empathetic understandings, fluent roles, and effective feedback. On the other hand, downs in empowering students are Supervisors’ low responsibility, inappropriate proficiency, and poor feedback, which led the students to look for an unconventional pathway.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study is to determine the major and minor criteria and qualitative and scoring standards for assessing written master degree dissertation of behavior sciences fields (Management, Psychology, Education and sociology) of Payam Noor University. 172 assessment criteria were developed after literature review and interview with research method and assessment and measurement professionals, and then were used to construct a questionnaire with likert and rating scales. Then 112 teachers were selected randomly from working and related teachers of PNU in the aforementioned fields. The calculated Cronbach Alpha values for the questionnaire were about 0.99 which indicate the high reliability of the scales. Results of binomial tests with more than 99 percent of confidence show that the teachers confirm the developed criteria. Also based on teacher's opinion, the criteria were classified in three standard categories of: acceptance with no modification, acceptance with minor modification and acceptance with major modification. Finally, scoring standards were estimated by principle component factor analysis.

Abstract: 

Purpose: To explore the impact of information seeking behavior of theses indexers to meet their information needs. Methodology: 35 indexers at the National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) and the Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (IRANDOC) composed the statistical population. A Likert scaled questionnaire was used for data collection. SPSS software was used for data analysis. Findings: Information seeking behavior of indexers meets their information needs in 7 components, not for "using sample documents" with a (mean lower than average: 2. 66). The total mean of the 8 components studied was 3. 63 (above the average). The research hypothesis is confirmed as the overall mean exceeds 3 on Likert scale. Conclusion: Respondents have sufficient expertise and experience. Their information-seeking behavior fulfills a high level of information needs at various stages of indexing.
