Introduction: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are considered as one of the most common occupational diseases and injuries. The aim of the study was to assess prevalence of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSD) and to investigate manual material handling (MMH) tasks by manual handling assessment (MAC) chart among sugar factory workers. Methods& materials: This descriptive-analytic study was conducted on 65 workers in a sugar industry in Isfahan in 2013. Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) and concise MAC chart were used to gathering required data. Then, the obtained data was analyzed using SPSS-20 software and applying descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation test and Chi-square test. Results: Lower back, knee, hand and shoulder symptoms were found to be the most prevalent problems among the workers studied with prevalence rate of 73.8%, 64.6%, 58.4 and 47.7% respectively in recent years. According to the results the highest level of risk related to the risk level 3, then 4. The lowest risk level was level 1.Conclusion: Regarding to results of the study, ergonomics interventions should focus on redesign of MMH tasks, improvement of workplace physical conditions and providing ergonomics instruments.

Subjects of the first group (first class) received a 20 minutes progressive relaxation and subjects of second group (second class) received a 20 minutes periodic visual stimulation. Before and after intervention, blood pressure and heart rate of subjects of both groups were taken. Data was analysed by covariance analysis with SPSS v15 sotfware. Results: Results showed that there were no difference between depth of relaxation (blood pressure and heart rate) of two groups. Conclusion: According to results of this research, we can use periodic visual stimulation instead of depth of relaxation.

By convenience sampling 40 patients were chosen. Forty individuals were chosen from the patient’s visitors which were as same gender, age and education as the patients were chosen as control group. Both groups filled four-system anxiety inventory (FSAQ). Multivariate analysis of variance was used for statistical analysis. Results: The results showed that the average anxiety grades in patients undergoing hemodialysis were higher than healthy individuals. The average grade of patients in all four dimensions of emotional-cognitive-behavioral and physical was significantly differ from healthy individuals (p<0.01).Conclusion: Anxiety is a common psychological problem in patients undergoing hemodialysis. While the anxiety level is higher in these patients, but this issue is less considered. Overlap of chronic disease symptoms and anxiety is a challenging concept. The result of present study demonstrates the need of psychological interventions in order to reduce anxiety levels in these patients.

Introduction: Because of the special working conditions, healthcare workers are the most at-risk groups for HIV/AIDS. The aim of this study was to determine the knowledge, attitude and practice of health/medical workers about HIV/AIDS.Methods & materials: We conducted a descriptive–analytical study of 235 samples (144 men, 91 women) of healthcare personnels in Khaf city. The sample was selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. Data collected anonymously through a questionnaire consisting of four sections, including; demographic information and questions about knowledge, attitudes and individual performance. The reliability was assessed by Cronbach's alpha (a=0.87). Data analyzed by SPSS 18 software using descriptive, analytical and t-test, c2 and regression methods. Results: Most of the study participants were male (61.27%). The average age of participants was 35.6±5.6. Most of the study participants were workers of health houses (17.9%). Knowledge, attitude and practice were different about HIV/AIDS depending on job nature. From the study population, 47.5% had good knowledge, 37.1% had moderate and the other had poor knowledge. Knowledge, attitudes and behavior in lower-level positions in the health care system, which are also potentially at risk, are significantly lower (p˂0.005). Knowledge and practice was better among female than male staff. Conclusion: In general, Knowledge, attitude and practice level of health personnel was fairly good. A combination of training methods to improve knowledge, attitudes and preventive behaviors is needed in low-level jobs which do not have a college education.

Abstract:

Introduction: Nowadays Access to safe and adequate drinking water has been an important national goal in different countries. The lack of control water quality chemicals and physicals is of concern to health authorities in societies. The purpose of this research was to determine the microbial and chemical quality of drinking water in GonbadKavous. Methods & materials: This descriptive and periodical research was conducted in 1392. A hundred and ninety two samples for testing chemicals and physicals of drinking water were taken. Parameters of chemical and physical, including EC, TDS, Turbidity, Hardness, nitrate, Alkality, Fluoride and remaining chlorine were monitored. Results were reported as mean and standard deviation. Results: The average residual chlorine, nitrate, Hardness, Fluoride were, 0.170.21, 1.55±0.67, 276.5±142, 0.205±0.18 mg/L in a samples of water respectively. An average concentration of EC, TDS was 766±315 mS/cm and 660±123 mg/L respectively. Statistical analysis doesn't show a meaningful difference between the parameters with standard parameters. Conclusion: The residual chlorine and Fluoride level in all water samples was less than the recommended limits of the standard of Iran. Therefore, the adjusting of fluoride and residual chlorine concentration with standards in the water supply is required by fluoridation and chlorination in water treatment plant or dietary needs.
