Abstract

Introduction: Elderly health is a health problem in most communities. The purpose of the following research is to study the effect of HOPE THERAPY on LIFE SATISFACTION and VITALITY of elderly women.Methods& materials: This is a Quasi-experimental study; enrolling all the rural elderly women in Sarab Village in 2014. Study population includes 30 of the population who were chosen through multistage random sampling. Study instruments included Diener Satisfaction with life scale and Desi and Ryan VITALITY questionnaires. Both groups were given pretests before the training. Then the experimental group was trained 8 sessions, each session lasting for 90 minutes, during the two months. Covariance analysis was used to analyze the data by use of SPSS software.Results: Comparing the results of pre-test and post-test in groups, confirmed the efficiency of HOPE THERAPY on LIFE SATISFACTION and VITALITY of elderly women (P-value=0.001).Conclusion: Therefore we can conclude the HOPE THERAPY education is effective on LIFE SATISFACTION and VITALITY of older women, therefore, in order to increase the elderly health, training these skills seems nessesary.
