Abstract: 

In order to study the effective factors in student's self-confidence, through sample-class approach, 200 students out of made high school in Gogan were chosen and required information was collected by using individual-family characteristics, self-confidence test prepared by the researcher, Indler & Parker coping methods and NEO personality characteristics, data analyses with the use of statistical examination of one-way variance analysis, Pearson’s correlation and step by step regression, showed that the students with physical and art-related activities and with exact programming, in contrast with the students without these activities had more self-confidence, further more, these results showed that except the number of family member, other variables (training approaches, coping methods, agreeableness, extraversion, school achievement, parent’s literacy degree and income)had meaningful relations with self-confidence.

Abstract: 

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between attachment styles and homesickness in a sample of Tehran University students. One hundred and forty five students (84 girls, 61 boys) were included in this study. Participants were asked to complete the Adult Attachment Inventory (AAI) and the Homesickness Scale (HS). Analysis of the data involved both descriptive and inferential statistics including means, standard deviations, correlation coefficient, t-test, and analysis of variance. The results revealed that attachment styles were associated with homesickness. Students with secure attachment style described themselves as experiencing less homesickness than students with insecure attachment styles. Girls had higher scores on the Homesickness Scale than boys. Secure attachment style is supposed to decrease on the Homesickness Scale than boys. Secure attachment style is supposed to decrease levels of homesickness through mechanisms such as ''affect regulation'', ''security'', and ''replacement'' of new relations and emotional bonds in stressful situations.

Abstract: 

The main aim of this study is to investigates the role of psychological factors particularly personality disorders on the attempted suicide among university students. 30 university students which have at least one time suicide attempt during last two month and matched by age, gender, marriage status, academic principle and academic year factors participated in this study. Instruments which were used in this study includes MCMI-II questionnaire (1987) and demographic questionnaire. All participants took part in a semi-structured interview.The findings indicated that there were significant differences in some subscales of MCMI-II questionnaire among two groups of subjects which include avoidant, antisocial, borderline, schizotypal, paranoid, narcissistic, passive - aggressive and self - defeating. The results also indicated there were no significant difference between two groups in other subscales such as schizoid, dependent, histrionic, obsessive –compulsive and sadist.The results of the current study shows that university students who have attempt suicide have background of some types of personality disorders which in consistent with previous findings that yielded by study of personality disorders and we can identify the vulnerable people and take necessary actions for preventing of attempted suicide and curing of students who attempted suicide.

Abstract: 

This research about the relationship between cognitive styles and personality factors in C. A students of Tabriz university. The subjects of this research are 377 students of Tabriz university in humans sciences, basic sciences, technical sciences and agriculture. sample were selected through stratified random sampling. Then they were administered Kolb’s cognitive strategy and also NEO-FFI questioners. The result shows that in different characteristic factors we have different cognitive styles. Result indicated that extraversion has positive correlation with concrete experience and active experimentation strategy and negative correlation with reflective observation and abstract conceptualization strategy. In characteristic Field Agreeableness and conscientiousness have positive relation with active experimentation strategy. Neuroticism and openness don’t have any meaningful relation with learning strategies. Also in technical sciences we have meaningful differences between cognitive style and extraversion and conscientiousness and agreeableness. In the human sciences we do not have any differences. In basic sciences only we have meaningful differences in neuroticism and cognitive style. In agriculture we also have differences between cognitive style and extraversion.

Abstract: 

The relationship between specific personality characteristics and heart disease is one of the subjects that is being investigated in health psychology. In this regard the following research was designed to investigate the relationship between type – D personality that is susceptible to coronary heart disease and brain / behavioral system. it may enhance our understanding of the neurosphysiological mechanisms behind the D-traits.In this research 400 college students were selected and assessed by type – D personality and Gray- Wilson personality questionnaires.The results indicated that type – D personality significantly was associated with increasing activity of behavioral inhibition system in whole sample and in subjects with highest type- D personality, but type – D personality was not significantly associated with decreasing activity of behavioral activation system in whole sample and in subjects with highest type – D personality.

Abstract: 

Abnormal behavior of the adolescent nowadays is considered as main subject in the domain of social pathology of family. Family has got an outstanding positing in the position of the framework of institutions of a society, and is the only organ which is responsible for altering the biological organism and change it to human being Family internalize the adolescent and children’s coordination with the social norms, which are acceptable as far as society is concerned, at various extents by founding educational and behavioral patterns of different social roles, and in short by socializing approaches. If families are unable to convey social norms to their offspring or internalize them, children’s behavior will not correspond to social norms and society will consider it as abnormal. Abnormal behavior must be taken into account an as approach to delinquency and committing crimes which is a proof of inefficient social system. The chief aim of this research is to define the relation between abnormal behavior of the adolescent from some various families (extended, nuclear, single parent, disorganized or denuded), and the relation between some family types of some social variables such as authority, discipline, parental control, scope of norms internalization, adhering to norms abnormal behavior of the adolescent have been evaluated and discussed. The statistical sample of the research is 592 students from either sex who have been singled out of 44939 students that study in five different areas of education and training schools of Tabriz in 2003 – 2004. The students were chosen by strified accidental sampling method. The research method is survey and the data had been gathered through questionnaires. Through the research and according to theoretical model of research, the results that have been driven through exploratory variables of abnormal behavior of the adolescent have been defined in all three fields: antisocial behavior, behavioral incompatibility and immoral behavior. The results that have been driven from performing various statistical tests such as T. test, ANOVA test, Person's correlation to clarify if there is any relation between abnormal behaviors that can significant relation between the variable. Moreover the results of multivariant analysis of the research will clarify the significance of Regression model which is discussed through the research.

Abstract: 

This study tried to investigate the influence of attachment style on the rate of marital satisfaction between couples. in this based 356 couples were chose among tabrizian teachers for education organization with simple random sampling method. For measuring the satisfaction variable the Enrich questionary and for assessment of attachment styles the Hazan & Shaver questionary were applied the results showed significant differences among attachment style with respect to marital satisfaction. The secure person (male or female) have a high satisfaction than the other style when both couples have a secure style. The rate of satisfaction is higher than the couples with unsecure (avoidant & ambivalence) attachment. Also it has been indicated that when the style of male and female attachment is even (both secure or both avoidant or both ambivalent) their marital satisfaction is higher than those with uneven style of attachment. Among attachment styles the lowest satisfaction belongs to the couples on with avoidant attachment and another with ambivalent attachment. The other result is that the males had higher marital satisfaction than females.

Abstract: 

Base on resiliency literature in the past three decades, factors affecting high risk individuals was investigated. 716 males in high risk neighborhood of 11 city of Fars provinces completed the research tools. The main goal was influence of familial factors (attachment styles and parental bonding) on resiliency with mediation of individual factors (locus of control, self esteem, and coping skills). Variables measured by 1- locus of Control inventory, 2- Attachment Styles Scale, 3- Parental Bonding Instrument, 4- Resilience Scale 5- Coping Skills Inventory 6- Self Esteem scale. Coronbach alpha was calculated in order to determine the reliability. For testing the validity, factor analysis and internal consistency was used. Although influence of family and individual factors was confirmed, results supported the mediating role of individual factors between family factors and resiliency. Each group (normal, user, abuser) had a different trajectory to resiliency and needs to be regarded in preventive and therapeutic interventions. Details are discussed in the full text article.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the present study has been the evaluation of reliability and validity of the Normative Beliefs about Aggression Scale (NBAS). A sample of 120 elementary school children (57 girls & 63 boys), grade3, have been randomly selected. These participants completed a scale about the" Normative Beliefs about Aggression" and their parents also completed the "Child Behavior Check List" (CBCL). The internal consistency and split- half methods have been used in order to evaluate the validity of scale. The results have revealed that the "cronbach alpha coefficient" for the NBAS and its subscale have been varied from 0.63 to 0.89. Also the result of split- half method has showed that the validity of NBAS has appropriate and varied from 0.60 to 0.82. The reliability of scale is also calculated via concurrent and convergent reliability. The results have showed that the correlation of NBAS and CBCL scales (and the subscales of NBAS) have varied from 0.21 to 0.50 (p<0.01). As a whole result, the NBAS scale has had a preper validity and reliability and can be used in research situations.

Abstract: 

The aim of this research was to study the perfectionism, obsessive – compulsive personality traits and perceived patterns of parental behaviors in individuals with OCD. It was hypothesized that the checking subtype of this disorder was differed significantly from other groups. For this purpose, 60 individuals with OCD (30 checkers and 30 washers) and 60 controls (30 anxious and 30 normal) were selected. The OCD people were interviewed using DSMIV criteria for OCD for confirmation of diagnosis. This individuals divided in two groups (checkers and washers) using moudsly obsessive compulsive Inventory (MOCI). Then they were administered the perfectionism, personality traits and parent perfectionism questionnaires. The results showed that the checkers differed significantly from other groups in those variables. Conclusion: It can be said that the checking is a special form of OCD that it have a special cognitive patterns and etiological factors. The results indicated that OCD is not a homogeneous disorder.
