Abstract

The purpose of the present study has been the evaluation of reliability and validity of the AGGRESSION/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">NORMATIVE BELIEFS ABOUT AGGRESSION Scale (NBAS). A sample of 120 elementary school children (57 girls & 63 boys), grade3, have been randomly selected. These participants completed a scale about the" AGGRESSION/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">NORMATIVE BELIEFS ABOUT AGGRESSION" and their parents also completed the "Child Behavior Check List" (CBCL). The internal consistency and split- half methods have been used in order to evaluate the validity of scale. The results have revealed that the "cronbach alpha coefficient" for the NBAS and its subscale have been varied from 0.63 to 0.89. Also the result of split- half method has showed that the validity of NBAS has appropriate and varied from 0.60 to 0.82. The reliability of scale is also calculated via concurrent and convergent reliability. The results have showed that the correlation of NBAS and CBCL scales (and the subscales of NBAS) have varied from 0.21 to 0.50 (p<0.01). As a whole result, the NBAS scale has had a preper validity and reliability and can be used in research situations.
