This study is about themes in ninth century poetry. Since there are many themes in the poetry of this period, ten more frequently used themes are chosen for discussion: eulogy, panegyric, gnosticism, love, God, sorrow, separation, carpe diem and no confidence in the world. These themes are analyzed in the divans of prominent poets of the ninth century such as Jami, Shah Nematollah Vali, Helali Joghataee, Ahli Shirazi, Baba Faghani Shirazi, Ghasem Anvar, Onsi and Katebi. The themes are discussed based on their frequency and structural and semantic differences with other ages are explained.
