Abstract: 

Background and Aims: One of the principles that should always be considered in designing curriculum, pursuing the goals and content of the curriculum in three dimensions: cognitive, affective and psycho-motor. If one of these dimensions be neglected in the curriculum, the curriculum will lose its balance and will not lead to sustainable learning. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the attention to the emotional domain in the nursing curriculum.Methods: This research method is qualitative and phenomenological which was conducted in 2014. The research population included a fourth-year nursing students at the Urmia University of Medical Sciences.14 students were interviewed using purposive sampling. The recorded interviews were transcribed and were analyzed by Diekelmann approach. To ensure the validity of the findings the validity of respondent and member check were used.Results: After collecting data using Diekelmann’s seven steps approach, information was analyzed. After analyzing the data, five obtained main themes are: Lack of student’s interest in their field of study, Lack of motivation to learn new things, Lack of sufficient attention to the interests and preferences of students by Professors, Negative attitude towards the content of some courses, Negative attitudes about education in clinical situations.Conclusions: The findings showed that the nursing curriculum designers and implementers have failed to pay attention to the affective domain in their curriculum and focus more on achieving cognitive and psycho - motor goals.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Considering the importance of factors impacting upon students' progress and achievement with regard to reducing. Amount of predictability of each the variables such as quality of life, lifestyle, academic performance in this study is evaluated with academic achievement.Methods: A correlation study sample of 150 students in the academic year 2011- 2012 through sample selected, Sample of questionnaire about lifestyle is a questionnaire and quality of life, Data by Spss16 and the descriptive test and inferential statistics such as correlation, regression and multivariate path analysis was conducted, this test was assessed with Cranach’s alpha reliability of the test and the retest interclass correlation. Interclass correlation and Cranach’s alpha all domains of 0/7, respectively. Academic Performance Questionnaire is used to assess reliability, Cranach’s method, 74/0 is obtained. It is desirable to determine the validity of each of the domains and measures of academic achievement, grade point average was reported16 Spss.Results: Among the components of two-component lifestyle just being cautious and responsible power of prediction, their academic achievement. Lifestyle component of the three components being cautious, given the need and social approval the predictive power of quality of life have. There is no relationship between quality of life, lifestyle, academic performance and academic achievement.Conclusions: The quality of life and lifestyle of students and academic performance are not related to each other, a component of lifestyle The only need to confirm and social belonging, being cautious to explain their QOL.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The family mood is predisposing the most of the people issues in all stages of life, especially school day. The present research to be accomplished with the aim of the survey of the relationship between the rate of family function with academic self-regulation among the nursing students in the Zahedan university of medical science (Iran).Methods: This research method was descriptive- correlative one with the statistical population included all the nursing students in the Zahedan university of medical science at 2014-2015 year.200 students were selected as a sample according to convenience sampling method. For the data’s collection were used to the Epstein, Baldwin and Bishop Family function questionnaire (1983) and the Kanel and Ryan academic self-regulation questionnaire (1987). The data in descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (correlation coefficient and step-by-step Regression) and were analyzed using the software Spss-18.Results: The results indicate that there was a positive and significant correlation between the family function in all dimensions (problem– solving, communication, role, emotional response, emotional association, behavior control, and general control) with the academic self-regulation in the nursing students. The regression analysis showed that among the predictor variables, the role and problem- solving variables could predict the academic self-regulation in the nursing students.Conclusions: The family and its performance have important effects on the student’s self-regulation.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Nursing education and training of doctoral students are vital, because they are expected to be a factor for the Advancement of Science in Nursing, professional advisors and also training future researchers. The aim of this study is comparesion of nursing education system in Iran with the Johns Hopkins University Methods: This descriptive-comparative study was carried out in 2016. In order to compare components of nursing PhD program curriculum in Iran and JOHN HOPKINS University, data were collected by searching the internet with using of databases Persian and English and compared using Bereday’s four-stage model: description, interpretation, juxta position and comparison.Results: If we want to compare Nursing education at Johns Hopkins School and Iran, from beginning of the modern nursing education, also the establishment of all nursing steps from licence to PhD, Johns Hopkins School was done earlier than Iran. Entrance to PhD, without passing the test and student's criteria admission, is imposed independently by the university in America. Educational plans are more various, and students have the ability to choose the course units. Some of the units are optional and they are selected by the appropriateness of student's need, thesis title and supervisor' s recommendation. Iran's Nursing Doctoral philosophy is fit with the culture and beliefs of the Muslim community.Conclusions: In Johns Hopkins a significant relationship exists between the mission and goals of the curriculum. Community's problems and needs are covered with locating the lessons. Educational planners should be more careful in communicating the goals and structure of teaching.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Due to the increasing use of social networks among people, especially students, so research in this area is necessary. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of using social networks on the academic achievement of students of Islamic Azad University.Methods: The research method is surveyed. The study population included all students of Islamic Azad University Izeh that were enrolled in the academic year 95-94 that about 100 people were randomly selected. To measure the academic achievement of students in the last semester students and to measure the use of social networks used questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed through the software spss and using one way ANOVA.Results: There is a significant difference between the academic achievement of students that ordinary users of social networks (M=15.15 and SD=55.1) and to social networks mild addiction (mean 13.15 and SD 01.2) and have social networks severe addiction (M=84.14 and SD=72.1) (p<0.005) Conclusions: Spending too much time on social networks cause to fatiguing in class and Reducing the hour's study and resulted in the academic achievement of students.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: investigating the quality of assessment of students’ performance in virtual education from the viewpoint of students in Iran and Russia.Methods: The population of the study was virtual universities students of Iran and Russia, among them, 221 students have participated in the study. To achieve this aim, a researcher was used questionnaire with 0.97 reliability. Results showed that there was a significant difference at the 0.05 level of the quality of assessment system of students’ performance in the virtual education of Iran and Russia.Results: There are significant differences in assessment quality of students’ performance in the virtual education of Iran and Russia at the level 05/0. Results indicated that three factors of "providing sufficient information about the final exam conditions, the type of scoring, time and place of exam", "diversity in methods of assessing and supervising the work of the students" and "offering regular feedback to the learner with the aim of solving the learning problems " were considered for assessment quality by Iranian students. In addition, Russian students selected three factors such as "fight against fraud and plagiarism, the quality of pre-test to assess students’ pre-knowledge and consistent of evaluation methods with educational content " for assessment quality.Conclusions: In comparing assessment system of Iran by Russia', there has been less attention to the plagiarism, pre-testing and conformity of assessment procedures with educational content. Using the approach of Russia in this field could have a significant effect on the assessment quality of Iran.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: The overall purpose of the present study is to study the extent of efficiency of education on improving high school students` attitude towards math with an emphasis on multiple solutions.Methods: The research methodology is action research which has more affinity with a qualitative approach, but it has quantitative aspects as well, in terms of its experimental methods and statistical tests. In this study, 47 students participated in the experimental group and 54 students in the control group, all of whom were studying in Tehran`s public schools for girls in both mathematics and empirical sciences in the academic year 2015-2016. The research tools are Palacios, Arias & Arias (2014) questionnaire which assesses students` attitude towards math in Likert Scale in the form of four components, namely, the perception of utility, mathematical self-concept, perception of mathematical incompetence and enjoyment of mathematics.Results: The findings reveal that all the attitude components have a positive meaningful effect on math and empirical sciences groups. The difference is that the math group has improved more in the enjoyment of mathematics. Also, results of Tukey’s posthoc test show that the mean of the intervention groupin math and empirical sciences are higher than the control group in all components of attitude.Conclusions: The positive growth of all attitude components in both groups and the significant distance between the intervention and control groups in all components of attitude, suggest that this approach has been successful in improving that students` attitude towards math.

Abstract: 

Background and Aims: Given the importance of Health education and health promotion are considered as important sources in economic, social and individual development, this study investigated the relationship Content analysis of Basic Education Development Plan based on the assumption of health system with an emphasis on education.Methods: In this article, "Shannon Entropy" content analysis method is used which, using a new vison, discusses data processing in the content analysis both quantitatively and qualitatively. In Information Theory, entropy is an index to measure uncertainty expressed by a probability distribution. The content of Basic Education Development Plan along with 12 main components and 58 sub-components of Health education and promotion was examined in 2016.Results: After discussing the entire document of Basic Education Development Plan, entropy content analysis showed that mental health component was the most frequent component with 97 cases and disability was the least frequent with 0 frequency.Conclusions: Findings from frequency of components showed that components of Health System do not have a normal distribution so that very little attention is paid to Health education and Health promotion in this document.
