RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FAMILY FUNCTION WITH ACADEMIC SELF-REGULATION AMONG THE NURSING STUDENTS

Abstract

 Background and Aims: The FAMILY mood is predisposing the most of the people issues in all stages of life, especially school day. The present research to be accomplished with the aim of the survey of the relationship between the rate of FAMILY function with academic self-regulation among the nursing STUDENTS in the Zahedan university of medical science (Iran).Methods: This research method was descriptive- correlative one with the statistical population included all the nursing STUDENTS in the Zahedan university of medical science at 2014-2015 year.200 STUDENTS were selected as a sample according to convenience sampling method. For the data’s collection were used to the Epstein, Baldwin and Bishop FAMILY function questionnaire (1983) and the Kanel and Ryan academic self-regulation questionnaire (1987). The data in descriptive (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (correlation coefficient and step-by-step Regression) and were analyzed using the software Spss-18.Results: The results indicate that there was a positive and significant correlation between the FAMILY function in all dimensions (problem– solving, communication, role, emotional response, emotional association, behavior control, and general control) with the academic self-regulation in the nursing STUDENTS. The regression analysis showed that among the predictor variables, the role and problem- solving variables could predict the academic self-regulation in the nursing STUDENTS.Conclusions: The FAMILY and its performance have important effects on the student’s self-regulation.
