The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlations among personality characteristics and intimate relationships with couple burnout in spouses of addicted men who conferred to addiction withdrawal centers in Ahwaz. The sample of this study consisted of 200 spouses of addicted men who were selected randomly using the stratified sampling method. The measures used in this study were NEO Personality Five-Factor Inventory, Pinez Burnout Scale and Intimacy Scale. In order to analysis the data, simple correlation and regression analysis method were used. The results indicated that the neuroticism had significant positive correlation with couple burnout and extraversion, openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness and intimate relationships had significant negative correlation with couple burnout. Finally, a multiple regression analysis showed that neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness and intimate relationships had multiple correlations with couple burnout. The results also revealed that neuroticism, intimate relationships and agreeableness were significant predictors of couple burnout.
