Abstract: 

Today, new technologies produce diverse data sets in the engineering sciences. Data science has provided the necessary tools for storing, analyzing, and managing these data set. In the near future, in almost all areas, traditional jobs will soon be replaced by data-driven jobs. Lack of efficient and trained human resources is a serious obstacle in managing large amounts of data in organizations, firms, and executive bodies. As a result, teaching and applying data science at the undergraduate and graduate levels in engineering disciplines, including chemical engineering, are inevitable. In this study, the importance of creating new courses on data science for evaluating big data and the role of these trainings in the development of chemical engineering in academia and industry are examined. For this purpose, data science courses in the top universities are reviewed and finally suggestions are presented. Titles are also suggested for how to present these courses. Providing these trainings to chemical engineers can help them to gain job opportunities and deal with large data in the chemical industry.

Abstract: 

This study was conducted with the aim of comparing motivation and academic achievement between talented students and those accepted through the exam in technical and engineering students of Tabriz University. In this practical and descriptive study, 58 engineering students were selected, using Morgan table and random sampling. To collect the data, the Walland Standard Motivational Learning (AMS) Questionnaire and Academic Achievement Questionnaire based on the previous semester grade point average were used, which was analyzed using SPSS 21 software and was calculated by Cronbach’ s alpha for the 0. 84 questionnaire. Independent t-test and one-sample t-test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that there is a significant difference in the variable of motivation and academic progress among those two mentioned groups of students, as well the rate of these variables was above average. There is another difference between the variables mentioned in the talented male students and those have been accepted by the exam. But there was no difference observed between the girls of these two groups. In general, comparing student performance is a good criterion for assessing the effectiveness of programs and the achievement of university goals, according to which, programs can be strengthened or modified.

Abstract: 

The issue of student motivation has always been of interest to researchers. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of professors’ ethical behavior on students’ self-efficacy and motivation. The research was conducted as a survey among students of Zanjan University. 274 students by using convenient sampling participated in this study. Data were collected using questionnaire in person and online. SPSS and AMOS software were used to analyze the data. Findings showed that professors’ adherence to professional ethics has a significant effect on students’ self-efficacy and motivation. The effect of self-efficacy on student motivation was also significant. Self-efficacy plays a mediating role in the relationship between professors’ ethical behavior and student motivation. The results of the mean test showed that there was no significant difference in research variables between students of different faculties. The critical ratio of the difference between the parameters showed that the research model did not differ significantly according to gender. The research model did not differ significantly between engineering and humanities students, but in one path (the effect of professional ethics on motivation) between engineering and science students, and students of humanities and sciences (the effect of professional ethics on self-efficacy) was significant.

Abstract: 

In this study, which was conducted by the field and inductive methods and through interviews with semi-structured questions, 38 researchers and employers in the electricity industry were purposefully selected and interviewed in depth. In these interviews, some questions were asked about the research ethics norms of efficient researchers in the industrial field, and the answers were collected based on their research experiences. Then, using open coding, axial coding and selective coding on the data obtained from the interviews, the final analysis was performed by interpretive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the most important characteristics of research ethics about efficient researchers are: Honesty, specialty, patience, good communication, hard work, professional ethics, beyond the commitment to act, known in the industry, being responsive to objections and criticisms, understand the problems and the issue, national patriotism & flag, faithfulness, satisfaction / understanding the needs and position of the employer, being young, problem solving concern, curiosity, persistence, innovation and patent, research articles, applicability of research in one or more companies.

Abstract: 

The general purpose of this study was to compare the perceptions of faculty members of technical-engineering departments of the usefulness, ease of use, self-efficacy and challenges of mobile learning. The research method was descriptive survey. The statistical population of the study included all male and female faculty members of technical-engineering departments of Shiraz University (147). The research instrument included a researcher-made mobile learning acceptance scale, which after confirming the validity and reliability of the sample was distributed and the data collected by repeated measures ANOVA, one-way analysis of variance and independent t-test. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21 software. It is found; 1-There is a significant difference between the dimensions of mobile learning acceptance from the perspective of technical and engineering faculty members and the highest average belongs to the challenges and obstacles and the lowest belongs to the usefulness, 2-There is no significant difference between the dimensions of mobile learning accepting between the views of faculty members of different technical-engineering departments and the views of faculty members with different scientific levels, 3-There is a significant difference between the views of faculty members “ experienced” and “ inexperienced” mobile learning.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of critical thinking in the relationship between personality traits and creativity with academic performance of students. The research method is applied and correlational. The study population consisted of all undergraduate engineering students of Birjand University who were studying in the academic year 2018-2019. 180 students were selected by relative stratified sampling method. SPSS and AMOS software were used for data analysis. To collect data, three questionnaires were used: California critical thinking skills form (B), standard creativity questionnaire, personality scale, and performance measures. Students’ academic achievement was considered as their average of the previous year in the academic year 2018. Findings showed that personality traits have a direct and significant effect on critical thinking, creativity on critical thinking, personality traits on academic performance, creativity on academic performance, critical thinking, and personality traits. Creativity through indirect thinking has a direct and significant effect on academic performance. The results of the path analysis also showed that the conceptual model of the research was well-suited.

Abstract: 

Even though 4G technology is still under development, many investors are currently working to advance the following type of internet networks identified as 5G. This research was to investigate the factors affecting the acceptance of 5G technology in Iran among university students in Tehran Province. About 238 students were randomly selected in this study from universities in Tehran. The main method for data collection and analysis is to provide an electronic questionnaire related to the model. Data analysis was performed using structural equation modeling method and PLS software. The results showed that the quality of technology has a positive influence on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, trust and perceived enjoyment. Quality has a positive influence on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and trust, while there is no direct relationship between perceived enjoyment and acceptance to use 5G technology.
