Purpose: Academic library services are important to all students. However, research shows that international students face some barriers in utilizing library resources and facilities. This study seeks the viewpoints of international students and librarians at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in this regard Methodology: The Cochran formula using simple random sampling method was employed to determine. Each the two groups of 36 library staff and 295 students filled one of the two researcher developed questionnaires, . Validity was assessed by experts and its reliability was measured by Cronbach's alpha. Findings: The international students' satisfaction with the services was high, except with regard to the audio-visual materials (CDs, etc. ). Librarians also viewed the services in line with the needs of international students. There is also a significant difference between the librarians and international students' perception of the differences between international and native students. Conclusion: The Libraries of Ferdowsi University should provide different services to their international students, and librarians should pay attention to the differences between international students and native students.

Purpose: To optimize the semantic information retrieval by labeling and ontology methods. Methodology: This applied research has been done with the approach of content analysis. 313 Persian articles on the subject of information retrieval were collected in a database with subject search capabilities for both pre-test and post-test groups. After labeling 5700 words with the help of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad's software for natural language processing software, the ontology of concepts and their semantic relations were designed and implemented in proté gé software. The accuracy of the retrieved results was measured in two stages before and after the test. Findings: The significance level of Z test, in terms of statistical and reliability of 0. 99, showed a significant difference between the accuracy of the retrieved related results in the two groups of pre-test and posttest. Therefore, these tools are acceptable. Conclusion: Tow methods of natural language processing and ontology optimize semantic information retrieval.

Purpose: Examines compatibility of seven national libraries’ performance indicators (PIs) against ISO 28118 standard. Methodology: The PIs of Library of Congress, National Library of Australia, National Diet Library, Library and Archives Canada, British Library, National Library of France, Swiss National Library, National Library of Spain were obtained by e-mail and grouped according to ISO 28118. Findings: The national libraries have developed more PIs with regard to accessibility to resources and services, digitalization, developing a national collection, accordingly. It seems that accessibility is even more important for them than their depository mandate. Conclustion: ISO 28118 standard is compatible with requirements of national libraries.

Purpose: Exploring reading related elements in fictions published in Iran between 2011 and 2016. Methodology: Descriptive content analysis carried out for thirty-four of the highest print run titles, both original or translated into Persian. Reading related included reading elements included words such as reading, book, bookcase, library, librarian, bookshop, and bookseller. Data is gathered using a checklist. Findings: 791 codes were identified 234 of which belonged to the Persian and the rest (557 codes) the translated titles. The words "book" and "bookseller" found to have the highest and the lowest frequency in Persian fictions accordingly. The word "bookcase" had the lowest frequency among the translated fictions. Conclusion: The presence of the reading elements in both groups of works is not acceptable. Overall, the translated titles contained more reading related elements.

Purpose: To examine the information-seeking behavior of graduate students in compiling their dissertation. Methodology: 328 students completed three questionnaires; namely, problem solving, self-efficacy and information seeking behavior questionnaire. Data was analyzed using Pearson correlation, multiple regression, and independent t-test using SPSS version 23. Findings: A relationship was found between the subscales of selfassurance, avoidance, self-control and self-efficacy as independent variable with information seeking behavior. The results of multiple regression showed that the predictor variable of self-assurance, avoidance style and self-control explained the variance of information seeking behavior. The self-efficacy variable also explained the information seeking behavior. There was also a significant difference between male and female students. No significant difference was found between problem solving and academic degree. Conclusion: Students with problem solving skills have higher degrees of self-efficacy and a better performance with regard to information seeking behavior. As such, the study sheds light on the process of information retrieval and gives more insight to future researchers.

Purpose: To provide suggestions to facilitate access to service desks in the National Library of Iran. Methodology: Data were obtained through observation and group decision making. First, guide signs and the current status of service desks availability were examined. Then, some meetings with 21 librarians working in the library's service desks and 29 members (in two groups), were held. The ideas were evaluated with the criteria of being executable and operational. Findings: The session analysis yielded 241 statements in 11 categories. Concepts like guide signs (with a frequency of 38), need for librarian assistance in using facilities (35), and education (30) get the most attention. Conclusion: In many cases, with minor changes in location, name and arrangement of service desks can increase the effectiveness of the desks for users.

Purpose: To identify and rank supply chain risks in digital libraries Methodology: This survey was carried out using Shannon Entropy and Fuzzy Topsis techniques. Two questionnaires were designed for data collection. Fifteen LIS academics and managers of digital libraries in Tehran filled the questionnaires. Findings: Risks of "Library Capacity to Provide Digital Resources" with Proximity Factor (0. 7315), "Ability to Attract Social Capital with Proximity Factor (0. 6835) "Changes and volatility in exchange rates" with the proximity factor (0. 6812) and "Government copyright policies" with the proximity factor (0. 6811) are the highest priority. Conclusion: 24 Identity Supplier Risks and the Risk of "Library Capacity to Supply Digital Resources" are among the Red Risks of Supply Chain Suppliers in Digital Libraries.
