Abstract:

The purpose of this study was teaching correct scientific citation in the scientific productions to the top writers of the Iranian Medical Sciences Universities in 2017 with regard to the relationship between moral growth and self-control variables with the "Citation to colleagues" model in the articles written by the top authors of Iranian medical universities in 2017. The current scientometrics and correlation study was conducted in the Iranian Medical Sciences Universities in 2017. The population under study in the first part of this research includes all the writers who had an H-index of 10 or more in the scientist database in 2017. The sample size at this stage was 130. The data collected were analyzed by SPSS 16. 0. The results showed meaningful relationship between moral growth variable and "Citation to colleagues" model, but self-control variable and related model is not meaningful; moreover, the regression model is significant. The coefficient of determination is equal to 0. 236 and F ratio is 16. 152 that data showed is significant at P<0. 001. According to the results of the current study, the only factor in the level of moral development (p <0. 001, B=-9. 031) is predictive power and self-control variable cannot be used as a predictor of the pattern of citation to colleagues be considered. In other words, part of the citation for writers' papers is influenced by social pressures. Regarding the results of the study, avoiding citing articles from the contributing authors of the article can, as far as possible, lead to strengthening of citation indices.

Self-directed learning has become one of the primary aims of education in the last few decades. The aim of the present research was to investigate the relationship between self-directed learning with Academic Adjustment and Academic Performances among students in the Qom University of Medical Sciences. This study was conducted on 303 students in Qom University of Medical Sciences. Data were collected through two standard questionnaires on Meta cognitive inventory of O’ neill, and Abedi and self-directed learning questionnaire of Fisher’ s. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics methods, Pearson correlation, Independent t-test and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of Pearson correlation test showed that there was significant positive relationship between total self-directed learning scale and its sub-scales namely self-control, desire to learning and self-management with academic adjustment and academic performances. There was also a significant positive relationship between academic adjustment and academic performances. According to Independent t-test results, there was significant difference between female and male students’ in total self-directed learning scores (p=0/04), and two components of it: self-control (p=0/02) and desire to learning (p=0/01). Although, there was no meaningful significant difference between female and male students’ mean of self-management, and there was no significant difference between female and male students’ in academic adjustment; whereas, there was a significant difference between male and female students’ in academic performances (0/001). Finally, Multiple Regression Analysis revealed that two components namely self-directed learning and academic performance predicted 23% of academic adjustment variance. Based on results, it is recommended that planners and administrators of higher education provide opportunity for students to learn self-directed strategy for lifelong learning and being active learners, thinkers, self-evaluators and adaptable ones.

Abstract:

These are valuable sources of information. They play a crucial role in the body of knowledge. A large amount considerable energy and time of faculty members of universities are spent on them every year. This research aimed at identifying the components of a purposive thesis in the country’ s universities of medical sciences. This research, which was conducted using grounded theory method. The statistical population consists of 60 individuals including all the deputies and directors of the country’ s universities of medical sciences. Data of 38 individuals using purposive method. Therefore, 38 individuals were saturated as the research participants. The data were collected using an open-ended questionnaire. Non-participating experts’ revision method was used for achieving reliability and validity of the data and the data were analyzed using the method of content analysis. Two-hundred and four codes were obtained by the analysis of responses, which were then placed in 53 IDs (concepts). The IDs were placed within 23 basic concepts and three major concepts (input components of thesis, process components of thesis, and output components of thesis) were extracted from them. The purposive thesis was selected as the core category after combining and analyzing the primary concepts and categories. Finally, some strategies were formulated as per the systematic approach of grounded theory with respect to the causal conditions, underlying conditions, and confounding conditions and the final model was presented based on that. It is possible to achieve purposive theses in the universities of medical sciences while considering a systematic attitude toward thesis factors into consideration.
