Abstract: 

Introduction: Continuing education is an essential component of nursing professionalism. Nurses also need continues training to improve the quality of nursing care. But a lot of effort is needed to improve how it is done and how effective it is. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the continuing nursing education program in Iran. Methods: The study was conducted in 2020 as a narrative review. Content from searching library and internet resources and searching for articles in SID, Irandoc, Iranmedex, Magiran, and Medlib databases from 2003-2016 using keywords search of continuing education, in-service training, retraining was extracted. A total of 62 goal-related articles were found working in Iran. After reviewing the titles of the articles and abstracts, 14 articles were used to compile this article. Results: Out of 62 articles related to the purpose, 14 articles were included in the study. During the survey from the perspective of nurses to improve the effectiveness of continuing education program in nursing in four general areas of knowledge, skills and performance, needs assessment, satisfaction and implementation of the results were obtained. Conclusions: The results showed that for better effectiveness, the need for change in the four areas of knowledge, skills and performance, needs assessment, satisfaction and implementation seems necessary. Continuing nursing education program should be based on needs assessment and interactive methods should be used for productivity Also, in order to create satisfaction in the nursing staff, adhering to the principles of adult education in planning and using teaching methods such as practical workshops and group discussions can be more attractive and effective.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Adherence therapy is one of the important psychological factors in the improvement of physical diseases that can be influenced by various factors to reduce various physical diseases. Understanding this important research, the aim of modeling the structural relationships of early maladaptive schema on adherence to treatment was mediated by cognitive regulation of emotion and fever in coronary heart patients admitted to hospital. Methods: The research method was descriptive-correlation of structural equations. The study population included all coronary heart patients in Fatemeh Zahra Hospital in Sari (Mazandaran Heart Center). Using Loehlin (2004) sampling method, 280 hospitalized patients were selected as the sample. early maladaptive schemas' questionnaire, emotion cognitive regulation, Resilience, and General and Specific Adherence Results were used. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis in SPSS and Amos statistical software. Results: The results showed the effect of incompatible programs on adherence therapy intermediary cognitive regulation of emotional design and resilience is significant (p=0. 01). Conclusions: Due to the predictive power of changes, the results can be found in psychological interventions and training used in consumption.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Lumbar disc herniation surgery is one of the most common spinal surgeries and postoperative care behaviors play an important role in the healing process. This study aimed to design and psychometric a questionnaire to assess patients' postoperative care of lumbar disc or discectomy. Methods: This is a psychometric study and was conducted in two parts of questionnaire design and its validity and reliability in 2021 in Tehran province. In this study, the tool used was a questionnaire to assess knowledge, attitude and behavior, which was designed using scientific sources, studies and expert opinions. To evaluate the content validity, the content validity ratio and the content validity index were used using the opinions of 10 experts. Test-retest methods were used to evaluate the internal reliability and Cronbach's alpha was used to evaluate the external reliability. Results: The designed questionnaire contains 38 items that measure 14 items of knowledge, 13 items of attitude and 11 items of practice about patients' caring behaviors after lumbar disc herniation surgery. The content range and content validity index were determined (0. 49-1. 00) and (0. 8-1. 00), respectively, and for their impact scores (<1. 5), the intra-class correlation range and Alpha Cronbach and Richardson's Kuder coefficient were calculated for the reliability of the three-scale items (0. 767-0. 977) and (0. 75-0. 86), respectively. The researcher-made questionnaire was finalized with 38 items and approved. Conclusions: The present study showed that the designed questionnaire has good validity and reliability and can be used to assess the knowledge, attitude and behavior of assessing patients' postoperative care of lumbar disc or discectomy.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Employing traditional teaching methods in universities may result in a lack of knowledge and practice of drug therapy in nursing students. This study aimed to determine the effect of case-based education on knowledge and practice of drug therapy in nursing students at Jahrom university of Medical Sciences. Methods: This study was conducted in 2020 on 37 nursing interns of Jahrom university of Medical Sciences. The participants were selected through the census method. Online case-based training was conducted through the WhatsApp application in four 90-minute sessions over 4 days. Nursing students’,knowledge and practice of drug therapy were assessed before and after the intervention by a researcher-developed knowledge test related to drug therapy containing 26 multiple-choice questions and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination containing 10 stations, respectively. The validity and reliability of both knowledge and practice tests were assessed before conducting the study. The collected data were analyzed using paired t-test and Wilcoxon tests in SPSS 21. Result: The means of drug therapy knowledge in nursing students before and after the intervention was 17. 97 ±,2. 69 and 22. 11 ±,2. 55 respectively, and the increase was statistically significant (p <0. 05). Also, the results showed that the means of drug therapy practice before and after the intervention were 61. 88 ±,5. 37 and 92. 85 ±,2. 56 respectively, and the increase was statistically significant (p <0. 05). Conclusions: Case-based education improved knowledge and practice of drug therapy in nursing interns. Therefore, this method is suggested to improve the knowledge and practice of drug therapy.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Attention to quality of life and sexual function of nurses is considered as factors affecting marital life and their overall performance. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the effect of ACT on the quality of life and sexual performance in female nurses. Methods: It was a experimental study with pretest, posttest and control group design. The study population included 160 female nurses in Marand Hospital in the winter of 2019. 30 female nurses were selected though voluntary sampling method and they were randomly assigned into experimental and control groups (each group of 15 nurses). The experimental group received eight ninety-minute sessions of ACT during a month. The applied questionnaires included the quality-of-life questionnaire (Warosherbon, 1992) and married women’, s sexual performance (Keraskian Mujembenari, Keybollahi, 2014). The data from the study were analyzed through ANCOVA method. Results: The results showed that ACT has had significant effect on the quality of life and sexual performance of female nurses (p<0. 001) and led to the increase of their quality of life (49. 60±, 8. 29 to 57. 66±,8. 20) and sexual performance (51. 40±,8. 28 to 60. 06±,7. 93). Conclusions: ACT can be applied as an efficient method to improve female nurses’,quality of life and sexual performance through employing techniques such as mental techniques, self as observer, cognitive fusion techniques, explaining the values and committed activities.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Consistent with the nature of health care, inter-professional collaboration is established as one of the effective principles of medical education and interventions,The effectiveness of this cooperation is related to various individual, structural and socio-cultural factors,This study is aimed at investigating the roles of personality traits and professional identity on the attitudes of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences’,nurses towards interprofessional learning. Methods: This study is an applied type in terms of method and correlational-descriptive in terms of design. The statistical population of the study consisted of all the employed nurses in Ardabil University of Medical Sciences’,hospitals that 310 nurses determined by the multi-stage random sampling method. Data collection was done using four questionnaires. SPSS software was employed to analyze the data. Moreover, the correlations between the variables were measured using the Pearson correlation test, variance analysis, and regression analysis. Results: The results showed that extraversion, openness, agreeableness and consciousness have a direct effect on their nurse’, s attitude towards interprofessional learning (p <0. 01). Besides, the nurses who have a successful professional identity own a higher amount of preparation for interprofessional education (p <0. 01). The mediating role of professional identity between two variables of personality traits and interprofessional learning was estimated to be rather low. Conclusions: The existence of a significant difference between personality traits of the nurses and their attitudes towards interprofessional learning can lead to positive attitudes towards cooperation among nurses with a suitable personality style. Also, the adaptation of personality dimensions in a medical team can bring out the possibility of enhancement in interpersonal interactions. With the provision of conditions in which a person can obtain successful identity, preparation for interprofessional learning among nurses is achievable.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Nursing is a complex word of medical sciences Failure to design appropriate and quality educational programs will cause irreparable damage to the health of the community, the academic credibility of the university and the graduates. The aim of this study was to provide a model for improving the evaluation of nursing education in Islamic Azad University. Methods: The research method in this article is mixed (qualitative-quantitative) and first based on the qualitative method and specifically based on the grounded theory method and by conducting 21 interviews with subject experts who were selected by purposive sampling method, to extract and present a model In order to improve the evaluation of nursing education, and then in the quanitative stage, by compiling a researchermade questionnaire based on the indicators of the qualitative stage 200 members of the Strategic Islamic Azad University Council, faculty members and nursing instructors of Nursing and Midwifery of the Islamic Azad University Faculty were selected by Cluster sampling that was appropriate to the size of the clusters (according to Klein's law). The reliability of the questionnaire was assessed through Cronbach's alpha and its face validity was assessed using expert opinions and the construct validity was evaluated using confirmatory factor analysis to determine the dimensions of the model. Results: Findings obtained in the qualitative section showed that the dimensions of improving the evaluation of nursing education in the units of Islamic Azad University include 6 dimensions,Improving the evaluation of nursing education (central phenomenon), causal conditions, contextual conditions, strategies, intervening factors and results and consequences and 17 components in Islamic Azad University. Conclusions: A model was presented to improve the evaluation of nursing education in the units of Islamic Azad University and the desirability and degree of appropriateness of the model was found to be appropriate and with 95% confidence Approved by experts.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Patients' adherence to treatment is one of the behaviors that can reduce the negative effects and severity of coronary artery disease. This study aimed todetermine the effect of educational program based on information, motivation, and behavioral skills model on adherence to treatment of patients after coronary angioplasty. Methods: This experimental study was performed on 80 patients who underwent angioplasty at least 9 months ago. Participants were selected by convenience sampling method from among the eligible patients referred to the specialized heart clinic of Razi Hospital in Birjand in 2020. The patients were randomly divided into two groups of 40, experimental and control using a table of random numbers. The experimental group was trained in 6 sessions of 60-90 minutes based on information, motivation, and behavioral skills model. The control group received routine care. Then, the study instrument was completed for all participants immediately and one month after the intervention. Data were analyzed in SPSS software version 16 using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results: There was a significant difference between the mean score of adherence to treatment at the time immediately (4. 01±, 0. 22) and one month after the intervention (3. 93±, 0. 25) compared to the time before the intervention (3. 66±, 0. 39) in the experimental group (p <0. 001). The mean score of components of trust in treatment, adaptability, integration of treatment with life, and commitment to treatment significantly increased in the experimental group immediately and one month after intervention (p < 0. 05). Also, the components of willingness to participate in treatment and stick to the treatment showed a significant increase in the experimental group after the intervention (p<0. 05). Conclusions: An educational program based on information, motivation, and behavioral skills model can be considered by nurses, physicians, and relevant managers to promote the concept of adherence to treatment in patients after angioplasty.
