Abstract: 

Dry ports are intermodal inland terminals which have been established in several countries. In Mostly, there are direct and shuttle rail connections between dry ports and one or more seaports. Wide part of services done in seaports can be presented in dry ports such as custom clearance, storage, container stripping and stuffing, forwarding, container repair and maintenance and so on. Moreover, Dry ports also act as important nodes for attracting and distributing of cargo, especially containers. Regarding the general structure of dry ports in various countries, These ports have major role in the arena of intermodal or multimodal transportation.In the present article, other than briefly introducing the dry port history, the infrastructure of container and intermodal transportations have been investigated from the viewpoint of experts considering the most important factors in feasibility of dry port construction. Also, the comparative and analytical study of dry ports is done according to annual information and statistics.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the present research is to study tidal flows in Merimus estuary. Having direct access to the Persian Gulf from north and south, this estuary has a very special potential. In this paper, field data of water level, suspended sediment concentration, velocity and direction of flow, and the physical characteristics of temperature, salinity and density of the Merimus estuary in two complete tidal cycles (spring tide and neap tide) have been studied in two stations. At the first station, water level changes in spring tide and neap tide were equal to 5.9 and 5.7 m, respectively. At the second station, these changes were equal to 4.3 and 4.4 meters for spring tide and neap tide, respectively. At the first station, maximum flow rate in spring tide and neap tide was equal to 0.42 and 0.26 meters per second, respectively. At the second station, this rate was equal to 0.64 and 0.64 meters per second for spring tide and neap tide, respectively. There were many changes in density and salinity level in channel and maximum measured density and salinity were equal to 1034.34 kg/m3 and 49.75 PSU, respectively. Average sediment transport at different depths in spring tide and neap tide were equal to 67 and 153 mg/l, respectively.

Abstract: 

The main purpose of the present research is identification of key and important indices in ports sustainable development and their application in Shahid Beheshti development plan (Chabahar) using the mixed exploring method. First, the elementary indices have been recognized by conducting interviews, focal group meetings, and using theme analytical method; then, considering the indices introduced by United Nations and those resulted from investigation of four world important ports (Los Angles, Antwerp, Sidney and Rotterdam) research hypotheses are codified, based on which a questionnaire has been prepared and distributed. The result has been analyzed using one sample T test. Finally, social, economic, environmental and organizational indices as the main indices including frothy sub-indices influencing sustainability of Iranian ports developments in Iranian port’s development plan have been recognized. Furthermore, it has been grounded that social, economic and organizational indices are applied in good and very good levels (4 to 5 out of 5) in average in Shahid Beheshti port development plan and some of the environmental sub-indices have not been applied completely.

Abstract: 

Every year, marine disasters cause in injuries, casualties and enormous financial losses. The investigations reveal that during the recent years 68% of the disasters happened to the flagged vessels of Iran were related to the traditional vessels. In the present research, the marine disaster issue in traditional vessels has been investigated in ports of Hormozgan province. For this purpose, factors affecting marine disasters in traditional vessels are define applying Delphi model and rated using TOPSIS model. Building culture of safety observation and elevating the seafarers literacy have been identified as the most important factors.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the present research is to present an investment optimization model on port development from a national viewpoint. In other words, the costs and benefits are estimated from investor and consumer approach. The formulated model is an integer program with the objective function of minimizing the port development and investment costs. The limitations of the model include operation capacity, investment budget, cargo transportation network and marine transportation fleet. Due to the uncertainties in ports’ estimated operation, fuzzy numbers are applied for modeling the operation capacity. The output of the model defines the port optimal design in 5 year periods and the number of optimal berths which should be constructed in each 5 year period.

Abstract: 

In the present article, two-dimensional Lagrange model with Moving Particle Semi-Implicit (MPS) method are applied for modelling wave problems and hitting marine structures. For applying the model to the viscous flow, it would be necessary to consider the turbulence effect. For this purpose, the constant eddy viscosity must be used. The comparison of the results of the numerical model with laboratory and numerical data reveals the increase of model ability in estimating the water level especially compared with other non-viscous models. Also, unlike other Langrage models, the pressure field is well calculated.

Abstract: 

Inter-Governmental Maritime consultative organization (IMCO) established in 1958 through enforcement of “Convention on IMCO 1948”. IMCO’s Name was changed to International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 1982 and multiple amendments were made into IMCO Convention among which omission of limitation of organization for being solely consultative and advisory were the most important amendments From 2005, IMO started the Voluntary Imo Member State Audit Scheme and in 2009 adopted mandatory Imo Audit through resolution A.1018 (26) aiming to start from 2015. Iran, as one of Imo member states, actively contributed in developing process of member state audit scheme and voluntarily audited in 2011 by IMO via Voluntary IMO Member State Audit Scheme. Descriptive Addressing of objectives, principles and audit area of the Voluntary Imo Member State Audit Scheme (VIMSAS) is the subject of this paper.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the present research is to investigate the prioritization of factors affecting improvement of Nowshahr Port competitive advantage in ships attraction and berthing among Iranian northern ports. The method used in the study is composed of two parts. First, by library studies and interviews with experts familiar with Nowshahr port activities the factors affecting ports operation were determined and the hierarchy was defined. Then, using the AHP method and evidential judgments, the degree of importance was defined for each factor in dual comparative matrixes. The results reveal that the most important factors which affect improvement of Nowshahr Port competitive advantage in ships berthing and attraction include: port service costs, convenient hinterlands and the land transportation costs. In the end, based on derived priorities, some points are recommended for improving the competitive advantage of Nowshahr port.

Abstract: 

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between knowledge management and its components with corporate entrepreneurship. This research is applied based on the nature and correlation based on the method. The population consists of 196 staff of General Directorate of Ports and Maritime Administration of Mazandaran Province with the degree of associate, from among 133 were randomly chosen based on Cochran formula. The data were collected by Bhatt (2001) adjusted knowledge management questionnaire and Marguerite Elizabeth Hill (2003) corporate entrepreneurship questionnaire with 13 items. The nominal validity used and for measuring the reliability of two questionnaires, Cronbach alpha of 0.970 and 0.895 were obtained respectively. In order to evaluate the research hypotheses, using SPSS software V21.0, the correlation and regression analysis were used. The results showed a significant and positive relationship between knowledge management and its components -acquire creation, registration, transfer and application- with corporate entrepreneurship in General directorate of ports and maritime of Mazandaran province staff.

Abstract: 

Nowadays, the economic competition in the public and private sectors is in progress with a high speed. The institutions and companies need competitive advantage to continue this competition. The competitive advantage is composed of factors or abilities which enable the company to have a better performance compared with other companies and prevents the blind imitation of the competitors. Hence, lots of public and private sectors use their competitive intelligence services for making their decision makers ready. The competitive intelligence means collection and analysis of information regarding the ability of the weaknesses and aims of the business competitors which is acquired through databases, free resources and legal and ethical ways. Also, in the recent years, the information systems have had a significant role in management discipline and strategic management. In this condition, recognition of the changes in market, competition, technology, innovation, understanding the behavior pattern of the customers, and predicting the future trends are necessary and essential. By presenting a suggested model, the present article investigates the relation between the information systems and competitive advantages with use of competitive intelligence in informatics companies of Guilan province. The data was collected through questionnaire. The structural equation modeling was applied for data analysis according to the suggested model.
