Abstract: 

Purpose: The aim of the current research was to Purpose: This research intends to evaluate “practicum cariculum-4” based on predicted goals, accomplishment of goals of high-level documents, ability of design and execution of learning unit within frame of lesson-study and strengthening of professional action in communicated operational program.Method: The research method is a mixed method from model type of triangle of convergence. Data collection was performed by use of author-based questionnaire for quantitative data, and a half-structured interview for qualitative data. Statistical society of the research included lecturers of Farhangian University campuses of Kermanshah province. Considering limited volume of statistical society, 52 lecturers were selected as research samples by census. Also, 12 lecturers of practicum lesson were selected by targeted method.Analysis of data obtained from quantitative method was performed by one sample t-test and for quantitative data; it was performed by quantitative analyses method in analyses of interview.Findings: Findings showed practicum carriculum-4 has been desirable relatively concerning obtaining predicted goals in high-level documents, but it was undesirable concerning part of designing and executing learning unit through lesson study in order to strengthen practical and professional skills of students-teacher. Therefore, it can be resulted that, rethinking and reviewing educational designing, processes and content of practicum carriculum-4 will be effective to affect preparing students-teacher in order to enter in education field in schools and preventing waste of material and human resources .

Abstract: 

Purpose: The present study aims at investigating the effect of process oriented syllabus on motivation in and attitude toward learning English at high and low general English proficiency levels.Method: Using a semi-experimental design two groups of students, namely A and B who had the General English course at bachelor’s level were studied for 14 sessions. At first, the two groups were distributed Gardner’s AMTB questionnaire for attitude and motivation to learn English as pre-test and post-test. Meanwhile, group A was instructed according to a syllabus where the overall and session by session course details and objectives were specified, while group B or the treatment group was instructed according to a syllabus where only the overall course details and objectives were specified. Data were analyzed using Co-variance statistical test in SPSS.Results: The study showed a syllabus where the overall and session by session course details and objectives are specified has a significant effect on motivation in and attitude toward learning English at high and low general English proficiency levels though no significant difference was found between the two general English proficiency levels in motivation in and attitude toward learning English. Therefore, as motivation and attitude are two important affective factors in language learning, it is recommended in order to improve these two factors the respective instructors provide a syllabus where the overall as well as session by session course details and objectives are specified.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The present paper aims to investigate the effect of teaching method based on cooperative assignments on students’ math learning and retention.Method: This research was carried out by using quasi experimental method and pre-test and posttest design. The statistical population consisted of the 9th grade high school girls in Tehran with as ample size of 60 individuals in two groups of control and experimental that were selected and studied by accessible method. The research design was designed and implemented for 8 sessions in two experimental and control groups. The control group was trained by the volume and area of mathematics in conventional way that the assignments were given individually to students, but after training, in experimental group, the participatory assignments were provided to students in the form of the groups of five individuals. A pre-test was performed at the beginning of the course and a similar post-test was performed at the end of the course in both control and experimental groups. Also the retention test was performed for both groups after two weeks.The aforementioned test was verified in terms of factual and content validity by two high school math teachers and supervisor professors. Also its reliability was calculated 0.89 by using Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient. In analyzing the data, the descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation and variance) and inferential statistics of covariance analysis were used.Finding: The results of this study showed that the teaching method based on cooperative assignments has positive effect on students’ learning and retention in mathematics and using the cooperative assignments in teaching is more effective than conventional way on students learning and retention in mathematics.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The aim of the current research was to identify the obstacles to implementing Lesson Study in primary schools of education in Ardabil.Method: To achieve the aim, the case study strategy was used, with the qualitative data being studied first, and on the basis of which the quantitative research was conducted. The study population were 1957 primary school teachers in Ardabil city. In the quantitative side, 298 people were selected through simple random sampling. In the qualitative part, 11 members were selected using purposive sampling, and in-depth interviews were conducted with them. To collect qualitative data, unstructured an interview was conducted which was validated based on triangulation and member checking methods. On the other hand, the tool for the quantitative phase was researcher-designed questionnaire the reliability of which was 0.79. Inductive content analysis, through open coding, was used for analyzing the qualitative data; and the PLS software was used for analyzing the quantitative data.Finding: The findings showed that organizational factors (including centralized organizational structure, organizational culture, leadership style, technology, internal processes) and personal factors (including teachers, lack of commitment of teachers and their personalities) are factors that hinder the implementation of lesson-study in schools. This research also indicated that among the aforementioned factors, most influencing factor hindering lesson study was focused organizational structure and the least influencing factor was teacher information.

Abstract: 

Purpose: Humanities play an important role in the development and promotion of cultural and social values of the society. Emphasis on knowledge production, customizing of the existing knowledge and the importance of fostering specialists in this field, show the significance of humanities. The research evidence shows that, there are no appropriate educational models in the universities of Iran that nurture qualified graduates in humanities. To encounter such a situation, instructional designs need to be based on the competencies required by the students. The focus of this article is on this question: What is the proper educational model for the Humanities?Method This study is a basic theoretical research, and to respond to the question posed, rational argument based on the library research and review of the related research have been used.Findings: Based on the argument; graduates in the humanities need to get education that encompasses three categories of cognitive, social and emotional competencies. Social constructivism approach can help fostering these competencies. In this approach, cognitive development occurs in the social context and through the interactions and collaborations that individuals make with one another. We may conclude that the competency-based education model that is emerged from the social constructivism approach is the suitable model for the Humanities.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this research was to determine Amount to have Smart school teachers of the skills required to teach by using ICT.Method: This study is done by descriptive survey method. The statistical population consisted of all teachers of smart schools in Chaypare city, which among them were selected 154 Person as a research sample by stochastic random sampling method. For collecting data was used the produced- investigator questionnaire 25 item. The Face and Content Validity the questionnaire was approved by a number of professors and specialists in the field of education. Also the factor analysis method was used to determine the main components with varimax orthogonal rotation. Its credibility was estimated through Cronbach's alpha 0/87. Data obtained analyzed by using SPSS software version 16 and by descriptive tests (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (T-test and independent t-test).Findings: The results showed that the Smart school teachers' skill to teach by using ICT and also contract the amount to have teachers from teaching skills in design, implementation and evaluation at moderate level. In addition, the results showed that female teachers have better performance in skills teaching by using ICT in designing, implementing and evaluating to compared to male teachers. According to the results of this study, it is very important to Attention to the implementation of theoretical and practical training courses in conjunction with the new educational technologies for teachers, educational developments and matching.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this study is recognizing principles that dominate desirable performance of study learning syllabus in elementary education in attached baccalaureate period of education. This research used qualitative approach framework and phenomenology.The method for collecting data was through deep interview. For gaining essential data, we interviewed with 10 faculties of study learning in a subjective method in KHuzestan province. Criterion for choosing these professors was their achievement in teaching that were based on formative evaluation scores, practical activity and final exams of students, and then we chose the best professors for interview. Data collected out of interview were analyzed through subject coding method.Findings: 245 conceptual cods were derived in the field of performed syllabus of study learning, then they had been categorized into 5 components and 37 sun-components. The results showed that in order to perform a successful syllabus for study learning, it is essential to apply principals like group work, interactive intuition, scientific collectivity, responsibilities and professors eligibility.
