Abstract: 

Background: Offering a postgraduate degree not based on the present and future needs of the society, not only does not relieve any of existing innumerable problems, but may lead to loss of money and national wealth, dependency, craving for obtaining academic degrees, jobbery propagation, professional errors, unemployment of the university graduates, waste of energy and disappointment of those who undertake educational endeavor hoping for academic excellence. It seems not the objective criteria but rather regional rivalries have often been the main drive for offering postgraduate degrees. The main objective of this study has been to define the extent of developing postgraduate degrees of medical sciences throughout the country.Methods: Several of more than 60 input, procedural, output and outcome indicators with prospective data gathering the main of which being the course expenditure scale, local expenses scale, rate of the applicants to the capacity of each course, outcome (considering professional, managerial, knowledge-transferring and productive aspects) scale, the whole number of possible future full- or part-time positions or whether it is conceivable at all have been selected. Experts have mainly been consulted where data was not achievable.Results: No limitation has been shown for 28 postgraduate degrees. Twenty postgraduate degrees are not required presently and their development may be limited (i.e. refusal of issuing new permit, reducing quota, every-other-year admissions or gradually getting on with other tasks). Twenty three postgraduate degrees may only be offered by one or two universities while 62 ones can be offered by up to 5 universities. Two of them should only be developed by the military authorities. Twenty three postgraduate degrees have been offered only recently (during 2013-2014) or no detailed data could be retrieved about them.Conclusion: MScs in the Medical Education, Human Ecology, Medical Parasitology, Medical Entomology and Vector Control, Ageing health, Health and media, Toxicology, Food Sciences in Crisis and Disaster Midwifery, Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Medical Library and Information Science and Health Services Management as well as MScs and PhDs in Medical Ethics, Medical Histology, History of Medical Sciences, Molecular Medicine and Anatomical Sciences should not be developed up to 2020.

Abstract: 

Background: To improve efficiency, equitable distribution of resources, equal opportunities, pre-vent the repetition of similar activities, the use of regional advantages, decentralization, the prevention of aggregation facilities, persuade universities / faculties of Medical Sciences in the national participations and stable, as well as the development of targeted higher education in Different Regions of the country, the transfer of some powers to the headquarters of the Ministry, to use the experiences of developed countries, spatial planning Higher education health based on studies conducted in the Ministry of Health to the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution set and presented Given that, this kind of planning provides comprehensive process of regional planning, therefore expected bring effects and results performance positive and efficiency.Methods: Review the latest events and definitions for information by searching online databases, and journals and published books, national and international official reports, news and reports from projects and related issues, and approvals of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution and Council of developer Medical universities.Results: In section existent of spatial planning of higher education health findings revealed the following:The Most people and number of universities and number of colleges affiliated to universities and disciplines and admissions postgraduate and most Assistant Professors and Associate Professors and Professors, number of articles indexed -number of beds active- all related to region 10 is) -Most admissions for PhD students- Most Instructor, and number of available hospital are for region 5. The least populated and available hospital is for Region 8 – The least number of universities and Instructor and of Associate Professor and of beds active is for Region 2 and 4) - the lowest students in different grades is for regions 4, 6) - the lowest number of Assistant Professors is for regions 5) - the lowest number of Professors and of articles is for Region 6).Conclusion: Formation the number ten of the macro-region and the secretariats concerned- infrastructure management for being programs coordinated packages of change and innovation in medical education- the focus of most facilities, software and hardware in areas of greater and centers province, especially in the capital, the need for planning and operational of spatial planning, for native province, decentralization, justice, infrastructure management for creativity and innovation, reorganization plans and processes and to update them, They are inevitable.

Abstract: 

Background: Throughout the history of the business, there is no evidence to show that Words on paper make an organization improved. For progressing the strategic intentions into strategic outcomes, the way ahead is very long and complex. Strategic management scholars believe that implementation of strategies, is the most important part of strategic management process. But there are few studies have examined the practical model of the strategy execution and its risks. However, this study aims to address the research gaps and risks of strategy execution and try to use the grounded theory approach for the evaluation of evolution and in-novation in medical education packs strategy execution risks.Methods: This study has been performed by reviewing electronic and non-electronic information sources to identify the infertility registries in developed countries as first step of national infertility registry design.Results: "Infertility Registry" has been performed in five countries systematically. We studied three of them from the view of history, structure and facilities.Conclusion: Despite favorable progress in many health fields and management of data diseases in Iran, systematic registration of infertility data based on international standards has been neglected yet.

Abstract: 

Background: In spite of notable achievements, medical education in Iran has faced some challenges during last years. Looking at these challenges and in line with upstream national policies in higher education, the packages for reform and innovation in medical education was designed by ministry of health and medical education.Methods: The national plan was drafted in three step: summarizing the national upstream documents in health care, writing comprehensive plan for higher health education, designing pack-ages for reform and innovation in medical education. Authors were used expert panel method for data gathering in macro level.Results: Twelve policies, 68 strategies and their translation in health system were adopted in comprehensive plan for higher health education. Eleven practical packages were also developed in order to implementation of these policies as packages for reform and innovation in medical education.Conclusion: Special attention to national upstream documents, cross relation between main policies, practical packages and translation of policies in health system are the main strength of this method. Of course, designing practical packages is not enough and achieving its main goals depends on implementation of policies by designing and running action plans and clear projects.

Abstract: 

Background: The packages for reform and innovation in medical education is running as the main national policy of Iran in the field of higher health education. Media is used as the powerful issue in implementing these policies during last 2 years. Author have tried to explain their experiences in this regard.Methods: Key stakeholders were identified in the first step, the portal of education deputy of ministry of health was developed to make effective contact with them. Also digital newspaper and virtual social network were used for publishing news and event in the field of medical education.Results: Totally 851 news with average visiting rate of 500 were uploaded in portal since March 2015. Seventeen digital newspapers were published for about 20 thousand of faculty staff via email service. Each News also were shared in virtual social network with visiting rate of 1000-1500.Conclusion: Communication with stakeholders is one of the main factors in implementation of policies and acts. With this experience, it seems media can play a vital role in implementation of packages for reform and innovation in medical education. It is notable that contents of media should be more analytic in order to have more effectiveness in this regard.

Abstract: 

Background: Improving educational quality is considered as one of the priorities of higher educational system. From this point of view, ranking of dental schools with postgraduate courses was done to evaluate and compare scientific level and Strengths and weaknesses of these centres. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and design a new pattern of ranking of dental schools according to the level of their education, research and equipment.Methods An expertise committee was formed and ranking design was performed with brain-storming method. A representative was chosen from each specialist’s organization for observation of dental schools and completing the questionnaires related to educational, research and equipment’s status. Data were collected and scores were calculated in each index. For the final analysis of the data, a specialized-designed software for ranking purpose was used.Results: No According to Analytical Hierarchy process the considered indices in dental schools were assessed and compared. 395 criterions were determined and the tree diagram was created and 16 dental schools with postgraduate course were ranked.Conclusion: Strengths and weaknesses of education, research and equipment were determined in postgraduate courses in each dental school and were delivered to the university rectors as a practical pattern for improving quality and quantity of education.
