The main question (or main goal): assessing the level of social poverty in different blocks of Ardabil city and the clustering of social poverty in this city (very poor, poor, average, prosperous, very prosperous) Research Methods In this study, raw data related to different blocks of Ardabil city that were obtained in the 1995 census were collected and then the indicators related to social poverty were calculated. The rate of social poverty in different blocks of Ardabil city was calculated using R statistical software and by the decision-making method of several Prometheus indices, the weight of the indices was obtained by ANP method. Then, using Arc GIS software and by analyzing hot spots, the spatial scope of social poverty was drawn according to their social poverty. Findings The hot spots extended mostly around the Balikheli Chai River, which runs through the city center. In contrast, more cold spots were observed on the outskirts of Ardabil, including Vahdat neighborhoods, after the second ridge of Ardabil city, including Hassanabad to Seyed Abad neighborhoods, and also in the southeast of Ardabil, the Mogadas Ardebili neighborhoods of Ardabil, Baharabad, Pir Madar and Hashemabad. The boundary between the two areas, Qiyam Square, Khatam al-Nubin, to the Mollabashi neighborhood, includes moderate spots and the border crossing social poverty. In addition, there was a hot spot in the north of the city and in the neighborhood of Sheikh Kalkhoran.
