Abstract:

Introduction Endometrium is one of the main parts of the uterus that is complex and dynamic in texture and experiences periods of growth and decline in each periodic cycle. Endometrial diseases, such as Asherman’ s syndrome cause adhesion to the uterus or cervix and also menstrual problems and pelvic pain. Such diseases can lead to miscarriage or infertility by preventing blastocyst attachment to the uterus or impaired uterine circulation. Recently, cell therapy has been proposed as a novel method to treat tissue damage and fibrosis resulting from destruction. It has been indicated that transplantation of various stem cells from bone marrow or adipose tissue to endometrium decreases fibrotic areas, increases gland numbers, stimulates angiogenesis, and enhances endometrial reconstruction and via supports pregnancy and improves pregnancy rates via a desirable formation of uterine tissue. This is probably done by entering into the endometrium and mutual differentiation into the epithelium and stroma or by the immunomodulatory effect and activation of endometrial progenitors through the growth factor. Conclusion Medical societies trust the use of stem cells in the treatment of degenerative diseases, cancer, and the repair of tissue damage with limited possibility of improvement. With regard to the recent advancements, there is a hope for the treatment of diseases, such as Ashman syndrome and endometrial atrophy. So, treatment with bone marrow, endometrium, menstrual blood, and cord blood-derived stem cells can help endometrial regeneration and improvement of the disease. In addition, uterine tissue engineering has also raised hopes for the future treatment of uterine diseases with 3D cell growth.

Aims The experience of labor pain is a complicated, individual, and multiple response to the sensory stimulation produced during birth. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of yoga training after 14 weeks on labor pain and pregnancy outcomes in primiparous women. Materials & Methods In this clinical trial, 80 primiparous pregnant women aged 25-35 years old referred to Sarem Hospital in Tehran, in 2017, were selected by purposive sampling method and randomly divided into experimental (n=40) and control (n=40) groups. The experimental group started practicing yoga from the 14th week of pregnancy, but the control group did not receive any intervention. The severity of labor pain and Apgar scores were compared. The data were analyzed by SPSS 23 software using one-way analysis of variance, Tukey post hoc test, and independent t-test. Findings Yoga training reduced the severity of labor pain in primiparous women (F=38. 57; p<0. 001). Also, yoga exercises had a significant effect on the first-and fifth-minute Apgar scores (F=10. 64; p<0. 001). In addition, yoga training had a significant effect on neonatal weight (t=5. 123; p<0. 001). Conclusion Yoga training reduces the severity of labor pain in primiparous women and has beneficial effects for pregnant women and their infants.

Aims Infertility is Non-fertilization of a couple after a year of regular sexual contact without using contraceptive methods. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group reality therapy instruction of social adjustment and rumination rate in infertile women. Materials & Methods This quasi-experimental study was conducted with pre-test post-test with control group. The statistical population of this study included all infertile women referred to the Sarem Infertility Treatment Center in Tehran during 2017-2018. Using purposive sampling method along with screening, 30 infertile women were selected and divided into two experimental and control groups (15 subjects for each group). For the experimental group, a course of real-therapeutic training program was held in 8 sessions of 90 minutes for 2 months. The instruments used in this research were Social Wellness and Rhubarb Noulen-Huxma Social Adjustment Questionnaires. The data were analyzed by SPSS software using one-way analysis of covariance. Findings There was a significant difference between the mean scores of social adjustment (F=86. 38; p=0. 001) and rumination (F=59. 08; p=0. 001) in the post-test after training the reality therapy between the experimental and control groups, in such a way that the social adjustment of the experimental group increased compared with the control group and their rumination decreased. Conclusion Training group reality therapy is effective in the level of social adjustment and rumination in infertile women.

Abstract:

Aims As one of the most common postpartum pregnancy complications with a prevalence of 50-90%, low back pain can have disturbing psychiatric effects. The aim of the present study was to investigate the comparison of the effect of eight weeks of aqua gymnastics, kegel, and combined exercises on low back pain in primiparous pregnant women. Materials & Methods In this semi-experimental study with pre-test post-test design with control group conducted in 2016, 60 primiparous pregnant women aged 25-40 years in at least the 41th weak of pregnancy (45 individuals in 3 experimental groups each conaining 15 and 15 individuals in control group) were selected by randomaized sampling method. The first and third groups performed aqua gymnastics and combined exercises at Sarem Hospital and the second group performed kegel exercises on mehrab-e-Esgh Yoga Professional Institute for 8 weeks. The Visual Acuity Scale (VAS) was used in pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed by SPSS 20, using one-way ANOVA and LSD post hoc test. Findings There was a significant difference between the mean score of pain in the studied groups and the mean scores of low back pain after exercise were significantly decreased in 3 experimental groups, which was a significant decrease in the combined exercise group (p<0. 05). Conclusion Aqua gymnastics, kegel, and combined exercises after 8 weeks are effective in reducing low back pain in primiparous pregnant women, but combined exercises have a more significant effect than aqua gymnastics and kegel exercises.
