Purpose: This research examined the compliance with of professional codes of ethics public library staff in the province of Yazd in years 2010-2011.Methodology: The research method is descriptive. Population consists of librarians of public libraries in the province of Yazd in 2010-2011. The sample was estimated 111 by using Cochran''s formula. Simple random sampling method was employed. A researcher-made questionnaire was used. The face validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by specialists in the field and using Cranach’s Alpha the reliability of the questionnaire was estimated 0.86. At descriptive statistics level frequency, percentage and mean and standard deviation was used.Findings: The results showed that respecting clients with 4.56 mean, to consider library work valuable with 4.63 mean, and protecting library equipment with 4.65 mean were among the highest. All components were higher than average.Originality/values: The topic of professional ethics has received special attention in library and information literature. Earlier, codes of ethics considered by Iranian and non- Iranian researchers were based on textbooks ethics. In this paper the components of professional ethical codes of the Public Libraries Foundation are used.

Purpose: composing and formulating bibliography is key activity in scientific area. It is necessary to conduct this activity on the basis of an organized and coherent framework in order to prevent wasting time and cost, unwillingness of audiences, incoherency of book description/analysis structure, and imperfect evaluation. Since the lack of such tool to formulation of bibliographies is evident with respect to literature review, the purpose of this research is to produce a descriptive-annotated framework.Methodology: This study is a documentary research. Since the research approach was qualitative, the purposive sampling was used. So, three following kinds of resources related to the research problem, were studied: 1) Bibliographic resources (400 books), 2) English bibliographic frameworks (in bounded level), 3) methodology and reference work resources in the library and information science area. In addition, the saturation principle was considered in data gathering and analyzing. In order to data gathering, necessary criteria for preparing proposed framework were extracted from the resources. Then the recorded data was analyzed in the qualitative content analysis way and classified to the related categories. Refining the prepared framework was continued up to the terminating the research, and its'' reliability was evaluated based on the professionals opinions and by testing on 10 books in myth area.Findings: The final framework includes two main parts: descriptive and annotated. 3 sub-categories of the first part are: bibliographic information, a brief introduction to the author and its'' works and book chapters and outline. The annotated part includes subject oriented and critical sections that the first section includes the author purpose in terms of subject, author purpose in terms of kinds of audience, and the kind of work in terms of affecting. In the critical section that is the main part of the framework, 20 following subcategories were extracted: Book print, the publisher credit, the author credit, consistency between book’s title and content, table of contents, evaluating of the preface and introduction, style and prose, book unique attribute, analyzing the content, the extent of achieving to purpose by author in terms of subject and of coherency with audiences, the coverage extent of book key issues, author’s view or bias, book contents independency, conclusion, tables and examples, footnotes, references, indices and translation quality. Finally some suggestions based on this research were offered for the future studies and conducting similar researches.Originality/value: The new, comprehensive and precise framework proposed by this research can be suitable for formulation and evaluation of bibliographies. Besides, it can be a good reference for authors, researchers, critics and audiences to make purposeful and coherent book review, analysis and description.

Purpose: The aim is investigating views of three groups of library users (nonprofessionals, specialized professionals, librarians) regardingthe importance and value of Attributes of entities of FRBR Conceptual model in supporting user tasks.Methodology: all attributes of entities of FRBR Conceptual model in supporting user tasks, was examined and evaluated through a descriptive-survey of the views of potential users of OPACs. During the data gathering sessions, semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect information from the research population for valuation of each attributes of entities in supporting user tasks with the questionnaire prepared by researcher based on IFLA FRBR report.Findings: “title of work”, “title of expression”, “title of manifestation”, “name of person” and “name of corporate body” are the attributes all users assigh them being of great value in supporting user tasks. Originality/Value: it is necessary that library software be reviewed based on FRBR conceptual model. Also because little research of users'' point of view isstudied t more researche is needed. According to IFLA FRBR group, has confirmed this.

Purpose: the present paper aims to describe the history, dimensions, and research and application areas of information credibility especially in the web information environment.Methodology: reviewing related literature in communication, sociology, information science and computer science.Findings: credibility is a multidimensional and expansive concept for which an agreement has not been reached. Credibility is basically an evaluation related to the user by which both objective judgments like quality and accuracy of information and subjective judgments like trustworthiness and expertise should be took into consideration. Research area of credibility conducted usually by checklist and survey approaches comes across many challenges especially in the web environment.Originality/value: information credibility is a major concern in new information and media environments and needs serious consideration. Furthermore, the present paper is the first in Persian language concerning the concept.

Purpose: The aim is suggesting new areas for the future research.Methodology: 42 pieces of research divided in2 categories (11 published as articles and 31 titles as M. A. and PhD thesis) were analyzed.Findings: The selected researches have been categorized on 3 categories: a) The Content analysis of written fictions (34 researches) b) The Content analysis of translated fictions(4 researches) c) The Content analysis of poetry (4 researches). Also about 24 researches study on a special area in children written fictions. Originality/Value: content analysis can be a showcase of all studies that have been performed in the past. The survey of the role and the situation of the different university courses, kind of universities (such as government and nongovernment universities), and the role of persons who are affecting and leading MA and PhD thesis, are the most important attributions of this study.

Purpose: Determining library and information student’s familiarity with theoretical and basic subjects of discipline and attitude toward it and examining relationship between them.Methodology: Population consisted of undergraduate students of Library and Information Science of ShahidChamran University, University of Tehran, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad studying in academic year 2010-2011. The sample of study consisted of 108 students. The data collection tool was questionnaire with questions based on Likert five-value scale. Data was analyzed by SPSS software using statistical t-test and Pearson correlation.Findings: State of familiarity with theoretical and basic subjects of discipline of forth year students were better than the third year students. Student’s attitude toward their discipline was positive. Also, there was a strong correlation between status of familiarity with theoretical and basic subjects of discipline and attitude toward it. Originality: Findings could to help educators of library and information science to identify Student’s weaknesses regarding familiarity with theoretical and basic subjects of discipline and positive attitude toward it and try to improve them.

Purpose: this is a pilot study tends to investigate correlation between centrality measures with bibliographic coupling as a well-known citation-based document similarity measure.Methodology: using citation analysis method, 40 research articles belonging to four engineering/pure disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and computer) and four Humanities and Social disciplines (Economics,Education, Psychology, and Sociology) published in 2011 and indexed in Web of Knowledge Database besides their citation links with 4000 other article (100 citation per article) were randomly selected as research population. Data were extracted and analyzed using UCINet and Bibexcel programs. Findings: findings demonstrated that there are high significant correlation (a=0/01) between centrality measures and bibliographic coupling; and so, centrality measures have potential features for further analysis in order to apply them as new citation- based similarity measures.Originality/Value: this research suggested new citation-based similarity measures which can be applied in databases and search engines algorithms to measure similarity of documents more accurately.
