Abstract

Background and Purpose: The global outbreak of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) as a pandemic disease has stirred a wave of fear and anxiety in different countries, especially among the staff of Cemeteries who are directly exposed to infection. This disease has caused both physical and mental illnesses. In this regard, an effective method for the reduction of mental vulnerability is the promotion of Spiritual health. The present study aimed to assess the effect of Spiritual health on the reduction of Covid-19-induced stress in cemetery staff with the mediating role of Workplace spirituality. Materials and Methods: This applied descriptive study was conducted on 117 participants who were selected via the simple random sampling method from among 168 personnel of Cemeteries in Karaj, Iran. A standard questionnaire was used to collect information. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were calculated by Cronbach's alpha method. Results: Due to the normality of the data, the structural equation model and AMOS22 software were used to analyze them. According to the research findings, the main research hypothesis was confirmed at a 95% confidence level. Conclusion: As illustrated by the obtained results, the Spiritual health of employees and Workplace spirituality strengthened their ability to adapt to pathogenic conditions and control thoughts and emotions. Moreover, it enhanced optimism and resilience in employees and reduced Covid-19-induced stress.
