Abstract

Backgrounds and objectives: Since lipid profiles and biochemical factors may change as a result of wrestling, in this study, the effect of exhausting exercise in different age groups of wrestlers is investigated. Materials and Methods: 21 wrestling champions of Golestan province in three different age groups performed a grueling exercise on a treadmill at a speed of 6 km per hour until the exhaustion stage and their lipid profiles and biochemical factors were measured before and after running. Results: Although HDL levels were 25% higher in adults than in adolescents, they were not statistically significant in all three groups. There was no significant difference between other lipid profiles and biochemical factors (p≤, 0. 05). Conclusion: A 25 percent increase in HDL in adult wrestlers may result in long-term training adaptations in this group.
