Abstract

Drug ADDICTION is now considered an Important societal harm. In has been proved that legal and policing confrontations with drug ADDICTION produces insignificant results. Some believe that drug ADDICTION is an illness so physical approaches and strategies to dealing with it would not be the solution.That is why many governments tend to budget on preventive measures. COMMUNICATIONs and MASS MEDIA could play a significant role in preventing campaigns.Studies on the role of Iran’s newspapers in preventing drug ADDICTION proved the papers lack of attention to the issue. The present paper aims at exploring the problem to introduce efficient strategies in this regard.
