Abstract

Academic research is inherently future-oriented and plays a very important role in shaping the future of various scientific fields. Contrary to the wide support that is given to academic research in the field of social impact, little importance has been given to the development of future literacy as an important factor in the impact of academic research. future literacy, due to the ability to visualize and prepare for possible future changes, has the capacity to change the current path of academic research and develop the fields of application of this research. The current study argues that future literacy has been neglected in the field of impacting academic research, and by relying on future literacy and future research, it highlights five key stages of determining the direction of research impact as a forecasting agenda for action.
