Abstract

The main aim of this research was to develop possible patterns of manuscript cataloging in Iran with emphasise on five major libraries. Data were collected by a checklist and were analyzed via Kruskal-Wallis Test to compare the checklist elements in the surveyed libraries. The result showed that manuscript cataloging in Iran have no unique pattern. Therefore, the research hypothesis was approved with the result. The paper proposes a model of national standard for providing consistency in the cataloging of MANUSCRIPTS in Iran.
