Abstract

By the time the idea of developinga national MARC format for Iran was thought, up to the present time that IRANMARC is seen as part of the "Integrated system of the National Library (Rasa)", there have been three processes: IRANMARC as a doctoral dissertation, IRANMARC as a manual, and the operational phase of IRANMARC as part of the "Integrated system of the National Library (Rasa)". Part of the modifications in the format through these processes, constitutes the content of this paper. The depengence rate of each process to the modifications and suggestions presented in the previous process is presented in the paper. A question is also answered: Is IRANMARC going forward or backward?
