In recent decades the usage of bibliometrics and scientometrics' indicators in assessing the scientific efficiency of scholars has become more common than before. The most important indicator that has provided a useful tool for comprehensive citatiQn studies is the citation indicator. Since this indicator is .very essential in qualitative assessment, it has been used in studying Iranian scientific productions in ISI databases and has also specified the na,tionalityof authors who have cited from Iranian scientific productions (self-citations, native citations, and international citations, separately and according to country and continent). The rate of correlation between the nationality of authors who have cited Iranian scientific productions and the nationality of the international colleaguesof Iranian scholars was also measured. Findings show that from the total citations to Iranian scientific productions 49.2 percent was allocated to citations used by other nationalities and 50.8 percent to citations by Iranian authors. Citations used by Iranian are also divided into: 30.73 percent, selfcitation and 20.02 percent, citations used by other Iranian scholars. Even though the normal curve of frequency of other nationalities that have cited Iranian Prod!lctions, indicate that the amount of citation to Iranian productions is undesirable, among countries that have cited to Iranians, USA, China and India, and among continents, Europe and Asia, are respectively, the regions that have cited Iranian scholars from 63 countries, and the rate of cooperations between scholars from those countries with Iranians scholars, verify the correlation between the two variables.
