Abstract

Purpose: Iran and Iraq are of countries with common Manuscripts that demonstrates the Common heritage of hundred years of the countries' shared history, science, culture and art. This research examines the role of Islamic Manuscripts as the common written religious, cultural, scientific, and artistic heritage in Iran-Iraq connections. Methodology: Via documentary-descriptive study, it aims at investigating the common Manuscripts in the two countries. Findings: The findings showed that Iran and Iraq ranked the fifth in having the Manuscripts in the World. Iranian and Iraqi scribes had the major contribution in the transcription of Manuscripts belonged to these two countries. As the main connection line, Manuscripts in Arabic language and in religious subjects have a great rate. Conclusion: Common information programs on the precious and ancient works of the two countries and the digital exchange of Manuscripts by important and active libraries of two countries can play an important role in the development of scientific, cultural, religious and artistic relationships.
