Abstract

A prospective study was done on the 28 patients with undetermined cause of spastic paraparesis for evaluation of contamination with HTL-V1 VIRUS from 1997-1999. These patients were all resident in the Fars province (Southern Iran). The results of molecular biologic test (OCR) were negative in all patients, in contrast with endemicity of TSP/HAM in province of khorasan, Iran. This study is the second search for evaluation of TSP/HAM.
