Abstract

TRANSCRANIAL DOPPLER SONOGRAPHY (TCD), is an non-inasive technique that allows assessment of cerebral circulation. This technology recently develops in our country and our attempt was made to applied this method for clinical and research purposes. TCD flow velocities such as peak velocity and mean velocity and pulsatility index (PI) has been measured as an own normal values in our TCD Laboratories. Our experiences in patient with STROKE disclose the most stenotic portion are in the carotid siphon, distal VERTEBRAL ARTERY and proximal of basilar artery. These studies are consistent with more frequent intracranial occlusion in Asian population.
