Abstract

Introduction: Working errors are inevitable in every profession including health care professions, but in nursing, its of greater importance.Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine barriers to reporting nursing job errors from nurses viewpoint.Methods: In this descriptive study, 92 nurses who working in Fatemeh Zahra HOSPITAL of Najaf Abad in 2008 were selected. Data were collected by self-designed questionnaire. SPSS software and descriptive statistics were used for analyzing the data.Results: Data showed that from nurses' point of view in the domain of nurse related, " Legal problems" had the highest score (4.64) and in the domain of management "inappropriate nurse manager reaction "had the highest score (4.27).Also 95.6% of them reported that reporting of job errors is essential.Conclusion: Regarding impossibility of suppression of nursing errors, struggle for controlling nursing errors depends on using a systematic approach with emphasis on management and nursing care.
