Abstract

This research paper study the COMPETITIVENESS abilities of non-interest bearing banks in conventional banking system, benefiting from theoretical analysis based on library studies. First, a mathematical model is designed, and then makes a comparison between the RETURN RATEs of interest and non-interest banks. Due to the difference between the two RETURN RATEs in RISK and LIQUIDITY degree, the research paper tends to describe the effects of those variables on RETURN RATEs as well as decrease the limitation of the model. Finally, comparing both rates, it studies the model in an open economic atmosphere. The results of this study show that the difference between people preference of holding cash and total money on both economies have no effects on RETURN RATEs. Otherwise, holding required reserves fewer than one hundred percent lead to higher rate of return for both banks. Totally, the non-interest bank is faced with higher potential RISKs. Also assets LIQUIDITY of non-interest bank is lower than conventional bank. On the other hand, use of speculation in interest country and the recede of society resources from productive activations cause to lower convert of money to benefit investments. Also participative economy has lower inflation pressure and therefore, changes in exchange rates has not caused the loss for non-interest bank and do not affect on COMPETITIVENESS of the bank in the world. Therefore, the results show that theoretically, non-interest banks has no problem for development and competition in the world if they can use new accounting methods for increasing assets LIQUIDITY and considering seriously the RISK management, It helps them to reach to competitive RETURN RATE in comparison with conventional bank.
