Abstract

 Introduction & Objective: A DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA is a rare disease that occurs in about 2-5 per 10000 births over the last 20 years were designed prenatal diagnostic methods. In Europe 60% of cases were diagnosed before lab ours. For that mothers are recommended giving birth in birth centers that have neonatal intensive care unit. For prenatal diagnosis of this complication usually used ultrasound or after birth by using chest-X-ray can be reached diagnosis. Physical symptoms and clinical signs of disease are due to the heart and lung dysfunction. In this study 11 of the patients referred to Taleghani hospital examined.Materials & Methods: This study was retrospective study in 2006-2014. The data were collected from the files in the hospital by check list, the number of patients were 11, all patients had DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA, other patients had similar diagnosis was deleted.Results: Mean age was 23 month and 18 days and gender 2 females (18.2%) and 9 males (81.8%d).Two of these were have in the right DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA and 9 (81.8%) on the left side. kind of mothers lab our of children was natural 7 (63.6%) and 4 (36.4%) caesarian section. mean weight of children at birth based on information in the files 2kg and 972gr.45.5% of the patients had respiratory symptoms at presentation6 (54.5%) had associated reparatory symptoms.Conclusions: The results showed that the incidence of DIAPHRAGMATIC HERNIA in the left side and male patient more addition, the majority of children with respiratory symptoms are abdominal viscera displaced pressure is created and can be associated with high mortality. The possibility of misdiagnosis due to similarities with other disorders is high so consultation with other specialties will help.
