Abstract

Background and Aim: Effective education leading to superior organizational performance. Educational Evaluation is a regular approach to gathering data that help managers to makeappropriate decisions in training programs. The aim of this study was to determine theeffectiveness of scientometric WORKSHOP in Qom University of Medical Sciences facultymembers and staff based on KIRK PATRICK'S MODEL. Material and Methods: In this before-after interventional study, 46 faculty members andstaff of Qom University of Medical Sciences were evaluated by a Self-made questionnaireincluded two parts to determine the response level (content, teacher and how to hold theworkshop) and learning level (before and after the WORKSHOP). Data were analyzed by SPSSsoftware, 21 version, using Pearson correlation and paired T-test. Results probability levelP<0. 05 was considered significant. Results: the average satisfaction scores of the participants from the WORKSHOP content was(30. 86 ± 5. 29), teacher (41. 92 ± 5. 43) and about manner of holding the WORKSHOP was (43. 87± 7. 45). Overall, the average score of satisfaction from the WORKSHOP was (38. 18 ± 6. 06). Thisstudy showed a positive significant correlation between overall satisfaction with the contentof the WORKSHOP (r=0. 43, p=0. 02), teacher (r=0. 79, p<0. 001) and the manner of holding theworkshop(r=0. 65, p<0. 001). There was also a statistically significant difference between theaverage learning level before and after participating in the WORKSHOP (p<0. 001). Conclusion: SCIENTOMETRICS training WORKSHOP, according to the KIRK PATRICK'S MODEL, waseffective on the learning level of faculty members and staff of Qom University of MedicalSciences. In this regard, it is advisable that the managers of the organizations take steps toincrease the knowledge and research skills of faculty members and staff by planning andsetting up effective WORKSHOPs, based on the Kirk Patrick’ model, using experiencedprofessors and creating favorable conditions for WORKSHOPs.
