Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to examine the effect of MUSIC THERAPY on reducing the recurrence of DEPRESSION and STRESS among drug addicts in Hamedan city.Method: In this quasi-experimental design, the number of 60 drug addicts referring to the welfare drug rehabilitation center in Hamedan was selected by convenience sampling method. Then, these participants were randomly assigned to two 30-participant groups, control and experimental groups. The experimental group was exposed to MUSIC THERAPY for 8 months, three days a week, and for 5 hours per session. Both groups were evaluated anxiety scale, DEPRESSION scale, STRESS scale, and methadone test before and after MUSIC THERAPY.Results: The results showed that MUSIC THERAPY can reduce DEPRESSION and STRESS.Conclusion: According to the findings, it can be argued that MUSIC THERAPY is a useful method in reducing the recurrence of DEPRESSION and STRESS in drug addicts. Thus, it can be used as one of the efficient treatment methods of ADDICTION consequences.
