Asthma is the most common type of chronic pulmonary diseases, with a high prevalence and incidence. But, despite availability of new drugs, morbidity and mortality rates of the disease is already high all over the world. Considering that the preventive measures and management of the disease have not been enough so far, devising other ways and procedures seems to be of great necessity. To do so, planning self-care practices and PULMONARY REHABILITATIONS consequently, will improve QUALITY OF LIVES of those suffering ASTHMA.Determining the effects of RESPIRATORY EXERCISES on the QUALITY OF LIVES of these patients, a trial study was conducted with 92 patients, selected consecutively, and in order to gather the data ASTHMA Quality of Life Questionnaires (AQLQ) were used. In this research, patients were assigned to contribute in a 3 divided stages of exercise (warm up-exercise-cool down) and then complete the questionnaires after a four weeks period.Findings revealed that self-care programs were effective on the QUALITY OF LIVES of patients. Moreover, significant relations were found in improvement of mood (P=0.0001), physical activity (P=0.0001) and social functions (P=0.0001).To conclude, preventing ASTHMAtic symptoms and promoting quality of patient's lives, it is necessary to recommend such patients to do continuous RESPIRATORY EXERCISES.
