Abstract

In CONTINUOUS REVIEW MODELS, the inventory position of an item is monitored after every transaction, and the policy is to order a lot of size Q when the inventory level drops to the REORDER POINT. In these models, demand is considered as probability distribution, and the other parameters are considered as crisp constant. Since determining the parameters as crisp, often is impossible, in this article the cost parameters including holding cost, ordering cost and shortage costs are considered as triangular fuzzy numbers, and the demand is considered as a probability distribution. Using the "extension" principle concept and fuzzy arithmetic, a fuzzy model is developed.Then an algorithm is proposed to obtain ECONOMIC ORDER QUANTITY and optimal REORDER POINT in the fuzzy sense. Numerical example is presented to illustrate the application of the algorithm. Finally, concluding remarks are given.
