Abstract

For a long time people believed that seas and oceans are more enormous than to be polluted. But nowadays, direct and indirect effects of water pollution on the human life make it necessary to prevent from such pollutions. Pollutant sources like industrial waste water, urban waste, drainage of ballast water and vessel sewage into sea, oil spill due to the incidents of oil tankers and oil platforms, nuclear waste, natural disasters like hurricanes, dust, and volcanoes, and materials resulting from marine organisms have detrimental effects on marine ecosystems. Gradual expansion of such pollutions into coasts and islands cause fatal diseases and genetically deformations in human beings. Oil pollutions often cause negative effects on natural resources. Most of the developing countries need to protect their marine ecosystem to help tourism and fishery industries and thereby help to economic development of the country. Severity of damages result from oil pollutions depends on indexes like incident conditions and environmental conditions. Annually, more than 500 accidents lead to oil spill and therefore more than 2.5 million ton of oil outflows to the open seas. There are different methods to clean up oil pollutions. Using absorbents is one of these methods. There are three types of absorbents include natural, refined natural, and synthesis absorbents. Absorbents can also be categorized as organic, inorganic, and synthesis absorbents. But the best method to clean up the oil pollutions is using the bacteria that absorb the oil. The main focus of this article is on this method. This method is the best and only natural method to clean up the oil pollutions.
