Abstract

Today, Information Technology (IT) plays a very important role in the international economy. Ports also play a crucial rule in economic relations between countries and have a major share of world economy. Therefore, taking advantage of innovative techniques and technologies in the world’s major ports has many benefits for them. Due to their important role in international supply chains, ports always have been the center of attention. Increasing the speed and reducing the lead-time, reducing the risks of port and marine operations, and increasing the safety level are some of the most important components of the world’s most developed ports. Today, all ports try to satisfy the customer as more as possible. Taking advantages of technologies such as RFID, maritime traffic control systems, and intelligent control systems for preventing collisions at ports can be a solution for many current problems of the ports include reducing the risks and increasing the safety level and help the ports to attract more customers and investors. Today, world’s major ports use Information and communication technology (ICT) to reduce investment risks and attract more customers and investors. Facilitating the process of service-providing will facilitate the process of import and export and therefore will reduce the actual cost of the goods.
