Abstract

In the verses 30 to 33 of Chapter Sad of the holy Quran, the story of displaying the high-breed horses before SOLOMON has been explained. In the verse 31 of the same chapter, we confront with two idioms i.e. SAFENAT (horses stood on three legs and the extremity of the fourth leg's hoof) & JIAD (high-breed horses) that .have different meanings from the viewpoint of their exegetes. And, the verse 33 points to WIPING of legs and necks of horses. It seems that there is a fine relationship between verses 31 and 33. This relationship is a kind of sorted COMPLICATION and EXPLICATION which is between "Safenat & JIAD" in the verse 31 and "Legs & Necks" in verse 33. These rhetoric figures of speech not only beautified the verse but also enriched its meaning.
