Abstract

Abolfotuh al-Razi is an outstanding preacher of Ray in the sixth Hijri century. His style necessitates special consideration of hadith related to Quranic commentary. Narrating 2017 hadiths indicates clearly the great status of hadith in Abulfutuh's commentary. This fact causes various functions for hadith in his commentary, with which the present essay deals, such as expounding meanings of Quranic terms, determination of instantiation for Quranic general concepts, emphasis upon appearance of Quranic verses, description of divine precepts in JURISTIC VERSES, distinguishing Meccan from Medinan verses, determining abrogator and abrogated verses, explanation of spritual rewards for reciting Quranic surahs, interpreting ambiguous verses, and description of causes of revelation of verses.
