Abstract

Concerning the three diachronic Farsi translations (Jenab Esfehani, 1924; Abbassi, 1956; Yaghmaii, 1993) in CHARDIN’s diary, the well-known French traveller in the 1700s A. D. to the East, the following issues will be taken into account. There are archaic language and integration of text on the one hand; and there are also the passing of time along with transformation of language and Farsi’s prose in translators’ work on the other hand. Therefore, the weakness in compilation and using Arabic grammatical frameworks which are remarkable in JENAB ESFEHANI literary works gradually disappear in Yaqmaii and Abbassis’ translated texts. Also, the literary works of these two translators are near todays Farsi standard manner. However, deviations from the source text in two recent translations led us to take the advantage of Berman’s criticism. Hence it is possible to scrutinize the changes, which caused as a result of translation, in six areas such as rationalization, spoiling the beat, decreasing and increasing quantitatively and qualitatively. French: La traduction dans le passage du temps: étude de trois traductions persanes des Voyages de CHARDIN en Orient Pour examiner le vieillissement et l’intégration de l’oeuvre justifiant la traduction et la retraduction, nous proposons une étude comparative de trois traductions diachroniques des Voyages de CHARDIN en Orient, récit éminent paru au XVIIe siècle. Les traductions retenues sont celle de Janāb Esfahāni (1924), Mohammad Abbāssi (1956-66) et Eqbāl Yaqmâee (1993-96). Notre objectif consiste d’abord à mettre en relief, à travers la traduction et la retraduction, le passage du temps et l’évolution de la langue persane. Ce faisant, nous nous sommes butées aux modifications apportées au contenu du texte source, démarche indépendante des normes langagières et temporelles de la société persane et relevant plutôt des connaissances linguistiques et extralinguistiques et de la subjectivité des traducteurs. A cet effet, nous avons retenu les traductions de Abbāssi et de Yaqmâee pour y lire à la lumière de six paramètres évaluatives de Berman, les modifications apportées au texte de CHARDIN.
