Abstract

WOMEN constitute half of world population and their HEALTH impacts significantly our families’ and societies’ HEALTH. The objective of this qualitative study was to explain WOMEN perspectives on the concept of HEALTH. 22 subjects (20-50 years) through a purposely-selected sampling method were selected from Tehran and went through an open semi-structured in terview.The interviews were recorded, transcribed and analyzed through constant comparative analysis method.According to the results, three main contributing categories were emerged: sweet and sour in motherhood experiences, sociocultural factors affecting WOMEN's HEALTH, and HEALTH of FAMILY. WOMEN HEALTH is a basis for FAMILY HEALTH which is influenced by appropriate FAMILY conditions, marital relationship and social support. Hence, addressing their needs is essential to reach to realistic plans.
