Abstract

This research aims at investigating the factors that the SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS of FACULTY MEMBERs of ISLAMIC AZAD UNIVERSITY (IAU) 7th region. A survey was conducted using a questionnaire. A sample of 420 full-time FACULTY MEMBERs was drawn using stratified random sampling method. The findings showed that journal articles accounted for the highest and patents accounted for the lowest number of scientific outputs. Humanities scholars had the highest and Art scholars had the lowest number of SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS. A range of personal factors affected scientific productivity. Besides organizational factors, information skills and SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONS, the other factors such as welfare facilities, research facilities, and management style of the university showed no impact on the scientific productivity of the population. Scholarly journals and books were the most used information resources. Improving personal knowledge and promotion were the top motivations for CONDUCTING RESEARCH.
