Abstract: 

The main purpose of this research was to determine the discrimination ability of Quality management, Learning organization, Knowledge management inventory (QLKI) for the separation of region four universities. The population was all faculty members and students of the all fourth district Islamic Azad University branches (ten branches were selected randomly). The sample consisted of 700 faculty members and students. The instrument used to collect data were three questionnaires designed by the researchers: The learning organization questionnaire (an adapted from Watkins & Marsick's questionnaire), the knowledge management questionnaire (developed based on Nonaka & Takeochi's Theory), and the TQM questionnaire (developed based on Padhai's Theory). Reliability was established by calculating cronbach's Alpha. Experts established the content validity of the questionnaires. The construct validity was established by using factor analysis. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics including percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation and discriminative analysis. The SPSS version 13 was used for analyzing the data. The discriminative analysis showed that there was a close similarity between ranking of universities by QLKI (the study variables) and the central organization of Islamic Azad University's ranking.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the present study was to determine the values of curriculum elements in citizenship educational approaches. The current research was categorized in field the of theoretical methods in which a descriptive- interpretive approach was utilized. One of the most important results in this study revealed two main view points in citizenship education. Each of them has some basic reasoning for curriculum elements they are progressive and conservative approaches. In this article we analyzed the elements such as goals, content, teaching methods and evaluation procedures. According to our findings, it is suggested that from progressive approach be used in Iranian citizenship education curriculum formulation in most of the time.

Abstract: 

The present research has been performed to recognize school-based management dimensions and components, and to present a suitable framework. All school managers, principals and teachers in Tehran (95905 individuals) make up the population of this research, and 1093 individuals with sample volume determination tables help with classificatory random method form the statistic sample. The information has been collected through questionnaires and interviews the validity reliability of which was tested after calculation (0.93). The obtained data has been analyzed with the help of descriptive and perceptive statistics. The obtained results from the questionnaires demonstrate that the dimensions and components of school-based management systems are as follows: The first hypothesis: Decision making dimension includes the following components: Bilateral acceptance, participation, majority of ideas participation, human resources education. The second hypothesis: Control and supervision dimension includes the following components: Self-control, individuals responsiveness toward the group, group supervision and responsiveness toward group and high supervision of educational administration offices. The third hypothesis: operating evaluation and human factors rewarding dimension also include these components: Moral and personal features, features, human resources managerial and communicative skills, official trainings, technical skills and educational courses. Moreover, obtained results from the interviews with educational management experts and specialists demonstrate that the most important theories which can be utilized in education in order to stablize school-based management system according to the above-mentioned dimensions and components are as follows: metharecognition, participational management theories, virtual education theories, organizational learning, comprehensive quality management and improvement of human resources. The researcher, with due attention to obtained results and practical experience, has suggested a framework for stabilizing school based management system to the ministry of education in his country.

Abstract: 

The aim of the present study was compare the self-regulation between students in regular and gifted schools to predict academic performance of the students. The study was causal-comparative and the statistical population was all of the high school students from gifted and regular schools in Shiraz. 84 Students from regular and 82 students from gifted schools were selected by matching method. The instruments for data gathering were MSLQ questionnaire and biology achievement test (Fooladchang, 1383). The reliability of MSLQ questionnaire was calculated by Cronbach Alfa coefficient (0.93). The scale's construct validity was measured by factor analysis and this procedure yielded six factors. The reliability of biology achievement test was calculated by Cronbach Alfa coefficient (0.87). The test's content validity was confirmed by professional high school teachers. The independent t-test and multiple regressions were applied for analyzing the data and results revealed that: a) Students in regular and gifted schools were significantly different on learning strategies and motivational beliefs of self-regulation. b) Among the dimensions of motivational belief, internal goal orientation and among the parts of learning strategies, self-monitoring was the best predictor for the students academic performance.

Abstract: 

The present research was done to study the main obstacles of research - based developments in the branches of Kerman province Islamic Azad University. For this purpose a sample of 250 people of faculty’s members (170 men and 80 women) and a sample of 380 people (200 female students and 180 male students) of 7th district s different branches of the 7th region of Islamic Azad university were selected at random and evaluated by use the of a 29 articled questionnaire which had been planned for this very purpose. Study s results indicated that from point the of view of members of faculty. The most significant obstacles of research-based development in branches are as the follos manner:1- Social and cultural obstacles (67.75%). 2- Shortage of economic and financial abilitie (67. 5%). 3- Executive and administrative obstacle (56.75%).From students point of view the most significant obstacles of research-based development in the branches are as follows: 1- Shortage of economic and financial potential (84.10%). 2- Executive and administrative obstacles (59.35%). 3- Social and cultural obstacles (45.55%). This study also revealed that the agents related to faculty s members from students point of view and faculty members (respectively 39.5% and 37%) are not considered as a serious obstacle for of branches research-based development. These findings relatively conform to the findings of other studies related to the research- based development’s obstacles.

Abstract: 

This research aims at investigating the factors that the scientific products of faculty members of Islamic Azad University (IAU) 7th region. A survey was conducted using a questionnaire. A sample of 420 full-time faculty members was drawn using stratified random sampling method. The findings showed that journal articles accounted for the highest and patents accounted for the lowest number of scientific outputs. Humanities scholars had the highest and Art scholars had the lowest number of scientific products. A range of personal factors affected scientific productivity. Besides organizational factors, information skills and scientific communications, the other factors such as welfare facilities, research facilities, and management style of the university showed no impact on the scientific productivity of the population. Scholarly journals and books were the most used information resources. Improving personal knowledge and promotion were the top motivations for conducting research.

Abstract: 

Studying the effects of work on people's attitudes has been an important topic in sociology. On the other hand, social capital as the totality of resources and benefits that are available to an individual via social relations, has gained widespread acceptance during the past few decades. But few researches have been done on the effects of social capital on individuals' occupational activities. In this paper, drawing on the ideas of theoreticians like Robert Putnam and James Coleman, first, the social capital of tenured high school teachers in Esfahan's five educational districts were measured, and then its effects on occupational activities were tested. The components of social capital included the quality of relations (trusting) and the quantity of relations or relational network (group memberships and cooperative behaviors). Utilizing a questionnaire, for a population of 5443 a stratified random sample of 329 teachers were studied. Cronach alpha for social capital was 0.85 and for occupational activity was 0.72. Research data showed that the average social capital of teachers, on a 1-5 scale, was 2.54 (it was 3.02 for trust and 2.10 for relational network) and that the average for occupational activity was 2.75. It was found that social capital was significantly associated with the quality of educational activity (r=0.42). The quantity of educational activity (r=0.39) and the quality of research activity (r=0.28). All components of social capital explained only 19 percent of the variance of occupational activities.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of regular parenthood instruction on parents' relationship with female guidance school students in Falavarjan city and on their academic achievements. Population of this study was the parents of female guidance schools in 2008. 60 parents were selected by cluster randomized sampling and divided randomly into experimental and control groups. The dependent variable; was 7 sessions regular parenthood instructions. Instruments were. "Family Assessment Questionnaire, "Family Assessment Cohesion and Adaptation scale. q. Questionnaire" The reliability was 0.72 and 0.92. The results of the academic exams were used for the student achievements. It was hypothesized that" regular instruction to parents has impacts on their children academic achievement, and relationship between them. The data revealed that regular instruction to parents had impacts on relationship between them (P<0.05). Also it had impact on students' academic achievements (P<0.05).

Abstract: 

This research was executed as a pre-test and post-test quasi-experiment design on a group of college students. To fulfill the objective 50 students from Garmsar Azad University who were studying psychology and education in 2007 were selected. They participated voluntarily and their age ranged from 18 to 25. The Research was executed using a test paper of English translation and a four-choice item test of the materials taught before. The content of paper was proved to be related to our research objectives (content validity). The primary aim of our research was to make students get used to listening for one week while they were sleeping. After one week, teaching material was given to them and they were asked to follow the instructions and write down a daily report of their experiences. Using independent group "t" test, the data was analyzed and it was concluded that it was not possible to learn English through listening while sleeping. Being fully aware of the research limitations, the results showed that learning does not happen while sleeping and it brings about headache, earache, impatience, and the feeling of being sleepy during the day.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the research is to determine relationship between the participation of teachers and the performance of managers. Population of the study was all of the managers and teachers of high schools and guidance schools in 1383-84, the sample of statistics was 40 managers and 200 teachers, which were used through probability grouping. To investigate the hypothesis of the research the following tools: 1- a questionnaire for evaluating participation of teachered which contains 45 questions with 5 choices. 2- a questionnaire of managers performance which contains 15 questions with 5 choices. Correlation coefficient was used to analyze the conclusion of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The study indicated that there is a significant relationship between the rate of teachers participation in decision making and variables such as managers performance and teachers stability, schools efficiency, teachers motivation and satisfaction.
