Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to explore the views of the students towards local and foreign mass media. Is the tendancy of the students towards local and foreign mass media and the availability of them is related to some variables such as age, gender, university that they are studying at, marital status, the place of residence. Educational semester, being local, job and education of parents, satisfaction of the family, and having a bad background of educational performance, or not? To answer these questions 600 students were randomly chosen as the samples including 300 students of the UNIVERSITY OF MOHAGHEGH-E-ARDEBILI and 300 students of the Islamic Azad University of Ardebil. Then they were provided with questionaires. The results show that among the non-written mass media TV is the most attractive one for the students, and newspapers among the written ones is the most interesting. Tendency to watch satellite was 22.8% among the students, but about 4.7% of them have access to it. The most favorable programs of foreign radios were news and music among the students. Also students listen to the programme Golbang-e- Sabalan among the programmes of local radio of Ardebil, but about 84% of the students do not use local newspapers.
