Abstract

The transformation of social sciences and humanities has been one of the issues considered in various general documents. Consequently, laying the groundwork for the realization of this goal is one of the most serious activities of relevant centers and institutions. This, however, requires first and foremost effecting changes in the scientific community itself, because as long as the academic community, who have a key role in advancing science, do not improve, there will be no hope to bring a change in social sciences and humanities. By accepting this, the first question, therefore, is how to transform the scientific community.This paper attempts to examine the scientific and PRACTICAL CONDUCT of late ALLAMEH TABATABA'I, a major Islamic scholar, in modifying the Qom Seminary and explain the necessities of change in the scientific community and thereby suggest some measures for policy making in the specified area. These necessities can be classified in three categories: moral qualities, competencies, and activities (preparative and corrective measures).
