Abstract

The aim of the current research was to comparison of the effectiveness Mindfulness-Therapy combination with Memory Specificity Training (MB-MeST) and with Mindfulness Therapy and Memory Specificity Training( MeST)on ANXIETY in HEMODIALYSIS patients. Research methodology included two parts: qualitative part of thematic analysis type and quantitative part of quasi-experimental type with pretest-posttest, follow-up, and control group design. The statistical population of the research consisted of HEMODIALYSIS patients referred to HEMODIALYSIS centers of Tehran city hospitals in 2017. A total of 48 patients were selected using purposive sampling method. In order to train subjects, combined MBCT-MeST (Researcher made), mindfulness training (Segal & et al, 2013) and memory specificity training (Maxwell, 2016) were used. In order to collect data, the Beck ANXIETY Inventory (BAI) was used. The data were analyzed using multivariate covariance analysis method. The obtained results showed that there is a significant difference between the ANXIETY of MBMeST group, MBCT group, MeST group, and control group in the post-test stage. Additionally, the results showed that there was also a significant difference between groups in favor of the combined training group. To explain findings, it can be said that combined training improves acceptance and awareness by establishing a relationship with the past and solving incomplete problems related to it and entering the present time and now without judgment. As the type of treatment used in this research has a clear structure and homework assignments, it increases the capability of the client to follow up treatment and leads to significant effectiveness of the related techniques in changing the individuals' mental status.
