Abstract

Hafez and IBN FAREZ are two great poets of Persian and Arabic literature. Much has been written on .each poet; however, no comparison has been done on the two poets. One of the most remarkable subjects which plays a main function in the poems of these two poets is "LOVE". In this paper six characteristics of LOVE are comparatively discussed: eternality of LOVE, LOVE as the foundation of creation, problems in the process of LOVE, nobleness of LOVE, LOVE as purifier .of soul, LOVE as real knowledge and insight.
