Abstract

Associating THE I.R. OF IRAN with postmodernism seems to be farfetched at first sight. But a "religion-modernism" relationship as two effective factors in our understanding of a postmodern society has enabled us to claim at least some overlapping features when analyzing the interrelationship of THE I.R. OF IRAN and the western postmodernism. The assumption here has only considered that aspect of postmodernism which deals with the epistemology and the social or individual ideologies. Quite naturally, THE I.R. OF IRAN, the same as postmodernism, is a dependent variable examined according to how the religious knowledge is viewed at the time.The result is the approval of some kind of mutual influence between the Islamic Republic in its general and specific senses and postmodernism in the process of the invigorated religiosity in the present time.
